Very festive, Stuart!!It's Friday! Party time! I'll pull out these sparkly conversation-starters when I join some buddies for drinks this afternoon. Left to right, a Vermont Cutlery tadpole (I haven't figured out how to date Vermonts, though the long match strike pull may be a clue) and two baby jacks by Frank Buster/Fight'n Rooster (pre-1982 tang stamp change) with pen blades in front of mains. I like the fine engraved numbers on the Fight'n Roosters that I have.

Thanks, Jack; me, too!I like all of those GT![]()
That stainless Rough Rider is 5" closed, so it's quite lengthy! Here's a photo of it next to a sheathed Mora 120, FWIW.Thanks, GT! Those melon testers are always confusing for me to gauge size-wise. The proportions are so thin and long that I can't tell the length. What's the closed length on yours?
Thanks GT. Mostly just the dyed in the wool born and bred "Southie" Bostonians. And the phrase would be "wicked pissah" Lol.![]()
Thanks, HST, and I want to echo your kind words to everyone here!!I'm carrying the Euro Barlow, until the holiday is over. Super excited about having some fun with the GF and friends.
May all of you have a wonderful Labor Day & Weekend.

It's not pushing Old Scout out of the pocket, though.

That 34OT is a classic, The Fort!!
Cool photo, Falling_rain!!
Congrats on that fine Ankermesser, Dylan!...I am sporting a new to me blade today, paired with my stag 66. I scooped up a used Otter Messer Anchor Jack, not knowing how huge it was going to be... Apparently they come in two sizes and I got the larger one. This one looks like it was carried a bit, the wood feels worn smooth, but the blade appears untouched. It has got to be the most comfortable knife of this size that I've held in quite some time, an absolute delight. The wood grain itself is rather unique as well, though you can't tell from the picture.

Thanks for the informative reply concerning your Otter....
GT, I notice that Otter Messer/Linder under the 'new' (post 2012) ownership, use cattle bone. IIRC, the vendor I purchased my knife from, before 2012, said this one is camel bone.
Dylan, I think the newer version of this Otter Messer model, with the fluted bolsters, looks even more casually elegant, without being overstated.

Sun's out, must be time to air out a WLST, or two...

Wow, Mike, that's a cool old Case
Superior stag duo, Pt-Luso!!Today with Gec # 25 easy opening with stag...

Incredible knife, Grateful!!
I've never handled a 73, but from pictures I've formed the opinion that a stag 73 is hard to beat!!Time to break in this 73. The stag, the end cap and the stainless make it feel much more substantial than my jigged bone 73.

Have a great weekend!
Good to see you and your sunny Camillus back again, Greg!A couple of weeks go by and I'm behind by over 800 posts! There's no way I can catch up with that, so I'll only imagine what I missed out on.
It's going to be very hot today, so I'm sticking with cool yellow.

Thanks, Tom. Classic pair for you today!
Interesting; how do you like that knife? (Steel Warrior, right?)
I like that threaded bolster 25 you have, Rachel, but your comment seems cryptic to me!?!
I didn't mean to be cryptic, Gary. Dove hunting season just started, and I used the 25 to prepare some dove.I like that threaded bolster 25 you have, Rachel, but your comment seems cryptic to me!?!
I decided to make this holiday weekend a sowbelly stockman Saturday/Sunday/Labor Day, so I'm carrying all the sowbellies I own. Here are some of them; I hope to show more Sunday and/or Monday.

No matter what I really can't complain as it was free with every order from cutlery corner a few years ago, but as a knife It's a pretty decent knife and takes a good edge.Admirable stag, Jack!!Your BF stag knife is posted differently, for you (or me
)!
Very festive, Stuart!!
Thanks, Jack; me, too!

Thanks, HST, and I want to echo your kind words to everyone here!!
Nice, r8shell!I wish many more aspects of my life could have the simple clarity of black & white!!
That 34OT is a classic, The Fort!!
Cool photo, Falling_rain!!I think it's the first stag and guinea pig pic I've seen!
Congrats on that fine Ankermesser, Dylan!I've admired that model for a long time. It fits in well with the several other super-desirable wood-handled knives you have!!
Thanks for the informative reply concerning your Otter.Beautiful 25s!
Wow, Mike, that's a cool old Case, but I can't figure out exactly what it is!
Congress frame, but it's not a standard 4-blade congress, is it??
Superior stag duo, Pt-Luso!!
Incredible knife, Grateful!!Same age? Do you look as well-preserved as the knife?
I've never handled a 73, but from pictures I've formed the opinion that a stag 73 is hard to beat!!
Sublime knife, Jeff!!
Good to see you and your sunny Camillus back again, Greg!
Thanks, Tom. Classic pair for you today! That's an impressive sharpening set-up!
So far, I'm most effective using the bottom of a coffee mug to "refresh" my blade edges.
Interesting; how do you like that knife? (Steel Warrior, right?)
