This sawcut Boker barlow today...

Beautiful Barlow Wayne :thumbsup:

Thanks GT, terrific trio, especially the Toledo!

I had these two with me today:

While setting up a dedicated sharpening table. Something I have wanted to do for a while but never got around to it.

Looks like you've put the clock back with that combo Tom :) Nice sharpening set-up too :thumbsup:

I carried two A.Wright Lambsfoot knives in Sambar today. Even with the size difference, and the different frames, that may seem a strange choice...

But I wanted to get a few pics! :D :thumbsup:
Thanks Dylan, I like your pic, showcases those two great-looking knives well my friend :thumbsup:

For Stag Saturday ;) :thumbsup:

Admirable stag, Jack!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: Your BF stag knife is posted differently, for you (or me:rolleyes:)! :cool:;)

It's Friday! Party time! I'll pull out these sparkly conversation-starters when I join some buddies for drinks this afternoon. Left to right, a Vermont Cutlery tadpole (I haven't figured out how to date Vermonts, though the long match strike pull may be a clue) and two baby jacks by Frank Buster/Fight'n Rooster (pre-1982 tang stamp change) with pen blades in front of mains. I like the fine engraved numbers on the Fight'n Roosters that I have.

Very festive, Stuart!! :):cool::cool::thumbsup:

I like all of those GT :thumbsup:
Thanks, Jack; me, too! ;):thumbsup::D

Thanks, GT! Those melon testers are always confusing for me to gauge size-wise. The proportions are so thin and long that I can't tell the length. What's the closed length on yours?
That stainless Rough Rider is 5" closed, so it's quite lengthy! Here's a photo of it next to a sheathed Mora 120, FWIW.

Thanks GT. Mostly just the dyed in the wool born and bred "Southie" Bostonians. And the phrase would be "wicked pissah" Lol. :D:D:D
:D:D Thanks for the regional dialect lesson, Bob! Much appreciated! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm carrying the Euro Barlow, until the holiday is over. Super excited about having some fun with the GF and friends.

May all of you have a wonderful Labor Day & Weekend.

Thanks, HST, and I want to echo your kind words to everyone here!! :cool::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I just put an edge on my new WLST, and it'll start earning a patina this weekend.

It's not pushing Old Scout out of the pocket, though. :)

Nice, r8shell! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: I wish many more aspects of my life could have the simple clarity of black & white!! :eek::rolleyes:

That 34OT is a classic, The Fort!! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Thank you for the Likes folks!

Some natural brownish stags for the weekend with my son's brown guinea pig.

Sorry for the focus, difficult to make it right.
Cool photo, Falling_rain!! :cool::thumbsup::cool: I think it's the first stag and guinea pig pic I've seen! :D

...I am sporting a new to me blade today, paired with my stag 66. I scooped up a used Otter Messer Anchor Jack, not knowing how huge it was going to be... Apparently they come in two sizes and I got the larger one. This one looks like it was carried a bit, the wood feels worn smooth, but the blade appears untouched. It has got to be the most comfortable knife of this size that I've held in quite some time, an absolute delight. The wood grain itself is rather unique as well, though you can't tell from the picture.

Congrats on that fine Ankermesser, Dylan! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: I've admired that model for a long time. It fits in well with the several other super-desirable wood-handled knives you have!! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

GT, I notice that Otter Messer/Linder under the 'new' (post 2012) ownership, use cattle bone. IIRC, the vendor I purchased my knife from, before 2012, said this one is camel bone.

Dylan, I think the newer version of this Otter Messer model, with the fluted bolsters, looks even more casually elegant, without being overstated.

Sun's out, must be time to air out a WLST, or two...:)

Thanks for the informative reply concerning your Otter. :):thumbsup: Beautiful 25s! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Wow, Mike, that's a cool old Case :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:, but I can't figure out exactly what it is! :confused: Congress frame, but it's not a standard 4-blade congress, is it??

Today with Gec # 25 easy opening with stag...

Same age as me Saturday carry.
Incredible knife, Grateful!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: Same age? Do you look as well-preserved as the knife? :p

Time to break in this 73. The stag, the end cap and the stainless make it feel much more substantial than my jigged bone 73.

I've never handled a 73, but from pictures I've formed the opinion that a stag 73 is hard to beat!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Have a great weekend!
Sublime knife, Jeff!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

A couple of weeks go by and I'm behind by over 800 posts! :eek: There's no way I can catch up with that, so I'll only imagine what I missed out on. :oops:

It's going to be very hot today, so I'm sticking with cool yellow.

Good to see you and your sunny Camillus back again, Greg! :thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

Thanks, Tom. Classic pair for you today! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: That's an impressive sharpening set-up! :cool::thumbsup: So far, I'm most effective using the bottom of a coffee mug to "refresh" my blade edges. :rolleyes:

I don't carry this little guy often, so I thought I'd give it a bit of pocket time this weekend.
Interesting; how do you like that knife? (Steel Warrior, right?)

I like that threaded bolster 25 you have, Rachel, but your comment seems cryptic to me!?! :confused:

I decided to make this holiday weekend a sowbelly stockman Saturday/Sunday/Labor Day, so I'm carrying all the sowbellies I own. Here are some of them; I hope to show more Sunday and/or Monday.

The stag models tend to be a little thicker and heavier than the wood or jigged bone. The little they lose in ease of carry is more than made up for in beauty IMHO.

I didn't mean to be cryptic, Gary. Dove hunting season just started, and I used the 25 to prepare some dove. :)

That's a nice herd of sowbellies you have. :cool: Enjoy the long weekend.

No matter what I really can't complain as it was free with every order from cutlery corner a few years ago, but as a knife It's a pretty decent knife and takes a good edge.
In my experience it's about as good as any rough rider I've handled ( I've had a couple RR's that were worse than this )
Though I don't have the rough rider equivalent to compare it to.

This knife is the steel warrior viper btw.
