Thanks GT! It's not a custom. It's a drop point in 5160 blade steel
Thanks for the info; sweet knife!

We are all immigrants.

True enough!!

Thanks, Gary. The bison had their eyes on me and my TC all the time I was setting up that photo!
Your Okapi Sable is a gorgeous knife.

Do you know what kind of wood was used for the handle?
The bison just give more credence to the claim that it's difficult for man or beast to take their eyes off your TC, Dean!

Thanks for the Okapi compliment

; I don't think I've ever seen anything other than "resin-impregnated wood" to describe the handles of Okapis.
Thanks GT; just put a fresh new edge on it the other day and is back to work.
Excellent!!

Splendid trapper, Frank!

I tried to put that Case back in my pocket this morning, but this AG Russell War Eagle Copperhead jumped in instead. I didn't have the heart to pull him back out.
Does that make you heartless, Frank??

That War Eagle looks enjoyable!

This little Jack again.

Fantastic red bone Case, Falling_rain!

GT
5K Qs
, it is wire unique. After receiving it I asked Todd to confirm its authenticity since it didn't have it's number inscribed inside as is his custom. Turns out he does not do that on linerless knives, of which he makes few. It fairly melts into your pocket. Yet despite its lack of heft it cuts quite nicely. Closest I've seen are Buck's Bucklite knives, also tough as nails.
Thanks for the additional info on that Davison linerless of yours, Tom!

Thanks Gary!
It's a printed background.
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
Another week of exemplary knives.

Thanks, Dee; I appreciate the info, the advice, and the kind words!

Thanks, GT! I love shooting sporting clays; I think it's more fun than regular skeet or trap. It's like golf, but with a shotgun.

(That's also another interesting coincidence with Hunter's character, although I can assure you that I'm not a retired Marine sniper, and I wasn't even alive during the Vietnam War!)

Alright, I'm going to use this as an example and vent here for a second here. ...
This is one of my biggest complaints about the new forum software, particularly when it comes to this thread. On the one hand, it's annoying when you're trying to multi-quote and comment on several posts, because I can't for the life of me remember what those two posts from several pages back contained. Then, when you're reading other folks' comments on quoted posts, you can't see what is is that they're actually commenting on without clicking a link and opening an entirely different window (and in this thread, that can mean a lot of clicking!). I appreciate that there's now an easy way to upload photos without having to use a third-party hosting site, I just wish that those photos would actually show up as photos when quoted! Ok, I'm done venting.

...
Today I carried my Nifebrite #71 Bull Nose. It'll probably be with me tomorrow, too.
Barrett, in the Hunter novel, one of the "bad guys" is the sporting clays shooter (but he's from Arkansas, too).
I have mixed feelings regarding the "feature" about which you vented. The fact that the "linked attachments" do NOT count against the 20-photo/post limit is something that immensely benefits me with my multi-quote posts.

And it keeps the post length shorter for those who aren't interested in many of the quoted photos and are irritated to have to scroll past them. I agree that when composing lengthy posts, not having anything other than the attachment link in the editor can be rather frustrating. I usually click on "More Options" immediately after inserting quotes, and then click "Preview". That leaves me with a preview of how my post will look after posting, as well as a standard editing window to compose the post at the bottom. I often have to scroll up to the preview to click on an attachment to remind me of the photo on which I planned to comment. That's a bit annoying, but not TOO bad IMHO.
I imagine that Bull Nose gets glowing reports!

(Another of my Gardening at Night series, sort of... Am enjoying the fruits of my labor.)
11PM straight up. Enjoying a fire to myself out back.

A glass of Jamaican rum and an EP Carrillo la Historia at my side. Bob Dylan Days from our college station playing in the background. And my TC peachseed Barlow in my pocket.

Life is pretty darn good at times.
That sounds like it will keep you "Forever Young", Tom!

You're showing that TC Barlow in a whole new light!

Distinguished lambsfoot, scruffuk!

Just this on my belt yesterday; so stinking hot I couldn't stand a watch on my wrist either, so that was dangling from my belt as well.
Quite a heat wave indeed, Jer!

Commendable couple of knives, r8shell!

... My Pioneer's definitely a
core permanent.

Ha ha, I guess I'm showing my age GT: I think 'O.G.' was a street term, first popularised in Ice T's 1991 album,
Original Gangster, which was very popular here in Melbourne. The kids these days seem to use it much more loosely, as a general term of approval for someone who epitomises a particular ideal "behavior, looks, or both, as well as a connection to the past or being older: commonly used as a sign of respect." (From that fount of authoritative definitions, Wikipedia.

) As in:'That GT's the OG of the BF EDC thread!'

...
"Atmospheric" photo of your Pioneer, Chin!

Thanks for the background on "OG".

I can't keep up with the ever-changing street argot, but I like that alphabet-soup example you posted!

View attachment 770144 Today I'm carrying my, new to me, Schrade U.S.A., 8OT. I picked this up yesterday, at a gun show, for $8.00! This morning I cleaned it up a little, sharpened all 3 blades, and applied a little oil. The blades are all snappy, and without any wobble. Finds like these are what keep me going!
Congrats on the 8OT!!

Trying to decide if I
need to pick up one of the new ebony #35s.

That's a boss Presidential, Mike!!

Simple is often effective.
Sublime jigging on that knife, Will!!

Carried this Boker yesterday
And this Western today
Steve, those are beguiling Barlows!

Neal, closest I've seen is this Northwoods. You can find them occasionally.

Whoa, Tom, that knife is definitely heavy metal!!

As always, I've carried these three this week, and will carry them during the week ahead!
