This just in, had watched these for a while and thought that maybe the best Stag was gone. I feel I got a good one here
...
Stag City, and you're the Mayor, Paul!! What a sensational stag Calf Roper!

Fine pair, Mike!

Kudos to Cutfinger for his generosity!

Grazie mille, Gary!

5K Qs
Thank you Gary. Big dogs are my thing.

Wasn't thinking of that pic when I wrote about "barking with big dogs", but seeing the photo again reminds me that you recently wrote you had neither dog anymore.

Sorry for your losses, Alan.
I believe that I purchased the six No. 8s in the late 1970's, GT. Five are still unused - may have to mod one or two.
- Stuart
Vintage treasure, Stuart!

Smile-inducing knife, Ron; always a treat to see your osage orange 73 (or the OO stockman, for that matter)!

...
The Ettrick helped with some knife restoration for a friend at work. The long handle and fine point made it perfect for trimming leather washers on the handle.
Fascinating photo of a distinctive knife, FBC!

Garden duties today,a bit of a pre winter tidy up.This one was bought and modded for this task.
Cool EO notch, bdog!

These two today
Complementary blades, enticing covers (stag and ebony are both VERY appealing IMHO) - dandy pair, Ron!

thanks, guys.

the secret is to put some wax on it and then rub it obsessively while watching the Astros win the World Series!!!
I'll take note of that!

Any particular wax?
I used Kiwi Brand neutral color shoe wax, Jack.
Congrats on an outstanding lambsfoot (and baseball team), r8shell, and thanks for sharing your secrets!

...
LOL! I hadn't thought of that GT! Rarely!
There were half a dozen hardware stores in Leeds city centre 15 years ago, and now there isn't a single one left

Glad to hear that your Lambsfoot is earning its keep

It will soon be time for that thread won't it?
That Workman is an interesting pattern GT, most unusual, and it's always nice to see your Schrade-Wostenholm Canoe
I know what you mean my friend!

Thanks for the kind words

Wonderful to see your Guardians Lambsfoot, I love the way your photo picks out the fine grain of the horn, like the hair of an angel

...
Thanks for all your comments on our knives and our lives, Jack.

I appreciate your willingness to endure (and maybe even accept/encourage

) my often-off-topic ramblings!

Many owners of the Guardian lambsfoot knives have written about the challenge of getting pics that reveal the nuances they see in person. I find it ironic that an unskilled photographer like me has come up with pics that show intricacies in the horn that I haven't noticed with my naked (and admittedly substandard) eyes!

That Guardian's Lambsfoot can certainly stand on its own!!

Stunning
Nice Jack

, just one for me today too:
I took the edge on this Sodbuster to 30 degrees inclusive, then sharpened it using the grey stones only on a Sharpmaker. The result is a toothy, crazy sharp edge I really like.
Vibrant SBJr, Tom!

I like the acute, toothy edges on my knives, too.

(Now I just have to learn how to get them at will.

)
This has been this sort of a day
Superb stockman, Will!

Kicked my GEC Bull Nose out of my pocket to make room for this one that came in yesterday.
Case 3 5/8" SS 4137 Sod Buster Jr. with an as ground blade and composite covers.
Congrats on acquiring another standout SBJr, ED!

Carrying one I bought from Bob today

#68 Jack in ebony...
...
I have this 56 Dog Leg Jack with me today. I just needed to have it close! Praying for you Bob!
Great knives and heartfelt sentiments, Paul & Ron!

Another shot of the toothpick, I really like the profile and swedge.
Toothpick, indeed, Josh!!

How long is that slender knife?
These today
Harry
Splendid pair, Harry; the stag is way more than adequate!!

In, sharpened and pocketed this afternoon.
Holy Ram's Horn, Jeff!! Congrats on a complete stunner!

I am heading out for a rockfish (striped bass) fishing venture on the Chesapeake Bay (fish all day tomorrow). I will be packing these. Then, on Saturday, muzzleloader deer season opens in the Old Dominion and I will be leaving for a couple days. Will try to post before or after that sojourn.
...

Enjoy your fishing and hunting, Stuart; hope you bring home the "bacon"!

View attachment 791285 Still loving the Churchill.
Looks like it could be never-ending love, Corn Fed!

...
Carrying a Lambsfoot in snakewood by Arthur Wright, and an old MOP penknife by Albert Oates today
Fancy Friday, Jack!!

I ALWAYS carry this Case chestnut jigged bone CV SBJr that I won in a BigBiscuit GAW almost 3 years ago. It reminds me of all the people and events for which I should pray each day, and that includes Bob and his family, especially lately.
