What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Howdy! First post, though I have been hanging around here on the porch for a bit. Great place to hang out! I love stockman, this is my current favorite.

Thanks much,
Josh

Josh, welcome to the Porch as we like to call this place we all enjoy so much. Your Queen Stockman is a fine Traditional to feature in your first post. Looking forward to seeing you around!

Stuart, here's some info I found when your comments about your S.W. Cutlery Liberty Bell aroused my curiosity. It will take you from knowing nothing about the knife to being a master of fascinating facts!!:thumbsup::cool::cool:

GT, I am stunned and humbled by the information that you found and by your generous effort on my behalf. That post truly is fascinating and I have put the LB-1 away for the day. I will note that The Codger gives the closed length as 3 5/8" (as does the information for one currently at auction online), but mine is very much 3 1/4" closed with serial # on the mark side inner liner, as well as LB1 U.S.A. under S.W. CUT. on the main tang. So much for that cute little knife in the corner of the box.

That Parker sure looks interesting Stuart !!!!!! What has your experiences been with Parker ???? I have never had one .

Harry
Harry, I have been pleased with the variety and quality of production of the various Parker brands that I have, and there are several. I understand that Jim Parker cut a wide (and sometimes rocky) path through the knife collecting world (founding/foundering the NKCA, running/ruining Case - take your pick). However, the Parker-touched knives that I have are all solid and made of good materials. There are some cheaper brands, and the quality shows, but they still function well. The better ones are very fine, particularly the ones with materials such as mother-of-pearl and abalone. The bone and stag are all fine, if not outstanding. I'll post some soon.

Cool pairing Jack, brilliant white on the GEC .

A couple of new arrivals for me today, L.T. Wright Patriot and a copper farmer.

Thanks a lot Tom, those two lovelies look like they fit right in :)

I bet that little Unicorn liked getting out today, Jack! Nice choices!
Today for me the black & white theme again. The background is some silly Thanksgiving place mat my wife found. I expect it's meant to entertain our grandson when he's here on Thanksgiving day. Boy things change when you have a toddler in the family.

Thank you very much Gary, beautiful ebony and ivory pairing  I know the feeling my friend, watch out for toys underfoot! :D

The north of England is in my opinion one of the nicest parts of the world. We don't have towering mountain ranges or endless tracts of wilderness, and your never that far from a road or village, but outside of our cities there is a bleak beauty to our upland fells. Generally they look like this:

Scenic shot Donn, and I agree with your feelings, of course

I don't know our precise plans yet, but I am very much looking forward to seeing your part of the world! Lovely picture!

Be sure to keep us posted :)

Thanksgiving week carry. Everyday pocketknife is the Queen City Canoe, larger single blade stag is my 73, and for looks nothing in my pocket can beat John Lloyd.

My brothers are both coming to visit, and I pulled out their old Forrest-Masters for them. (gave 'em a little cleaning and oiling) If they want to take them home, we'll have to mail them.
