What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Out for a halftime walk with dogs and gift from my friend Duncan, a 2013 single spey in sawcut saddle brown bone.

GT Thank you, yar need some green anywhere at this time of year. The only green is indoors and that clings on precariously in 5 hrs twilight. Evergreens outdoors are just pines/firs no laurel or holly like elsewhere in Europe-too dark&cold.

Ron. What's stopping you??:D Get yourself an Owl you won't regret it! Mind you, I'm envious of your Cuban TKs

Gev. Thanks be to you too:thumbsup: Glad to see you're active and about, that Cat is beautiful (almost as fantastic as my princess:D)

Regards & greetings to all, Will

Carrying 3 today, although I am transporting the peanut really as a gift for my uncle. He has several styles and brands that are all peanut-ish. He was admiring the white handle on one of my small fixed blades and remarked it would be nice if someone made a peanut with a white handle.

I also have a couple of sharpeneing stones with me for my biannual sharpening of most of my family’s kitchen knives :).

Tom, I think your Uncle is going to love that Peanut. I like white knives too and that Peanut looks great in snowy white.

Whetstone39 Whetstone39 Is that the Sparxx handles that are shiny or are they "plain" white? I like the look of the red shield on the white handles, but the Sparxx handles are too glittery for me.

Shawn, I can't speak for Tom's knife but I have one of the SparXX knives similar to Tom's. The only thing glittery on mine is the shield.

The Boots Thanks you for your fine compliment ! I know you posted a picture of princess before ( I could not find it ) ...oh so beautiful too !!!

Carried the Davison today...beautiful day here in the North Georgia mountains. The wife and I went to Lake Rabun Hotel for a fantastic Thanksgiving meal. Our daughter was with friends, so we decided to let someone else cook for a change.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends on The Porch!

Nice choices Tom, and a kind gesture there :)

Thanks my friend, it was a big hit. He gave me a coin in return, I had almost forgotten that tradition.

Hey Shawn - it is the plain white, the light was really strong when I took that picture. It is a beautiful knife, I haven’t yet learned to fully appreciate the pattern. Shhhhh, don’t tell The Cult of the Peanut :).

Great looking knife, and thanks Rick. He really liked it. I put a nice edge on it prior to giving it to him; within 10 minutes he used it to open a bag of charcoal and cut the foil capsule off a bottle of wine. He smiled and said “that is SHARP”. Kind of made my day :).

Thanks guys! Mom wants to polish the silver fittings but I'm cautioning her against the idea.

I have my granny's Joseph Rodgers carving set, and my grandfather's pewter tankard. Unfortunately, my grandmother went through a phase of having one of her old pals from the cutlery trade 'silver-dip' various items, so the blade of the knife has been EPNS plated over the blade, and the tankard similarly marred!

Great to see everyone's Thanksgiving choices :) Just another Friday here, but Friday is good right? ;) Even though the mercury has dropped here  I'm packing these two today, and wearing lambswool to go with my Lambsfoot! :D
