What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

joeradza joeradza Thanks, Alan. The corkscrew is typically over-built German industrial strength. When corks see it coming, they ease themselves out of the bottle.

It really sharpened up nice when I got it, Alan. I like it so much I can't imagine one I'd like better. For the price John Lloyd's knives are a steal in my mind. That Lloyd you carry is no slouch. A lovely knife and a great pattern.
Thanks Gary. I rarely wear a watch or any jewelry anymore, that's what my knives are for.

This knife checks a lot of boxes. Barlow, Clip point, long pull match strike, Sawcut...doesn't get much better!!!

An older and maybe recycled picture of my 2014 Indian River Jack. When I got it I thought it might be "the one". That didn't work out so good.

I'm younger than that now"

Looks pretty good to me, JB!!:cool::thumbsup: Equal-end spearpoint is fantastic; all it needs is another blade on the other end! ;)

Right now I have a 15 Harness Jack and Schrade-Walden 219 as a secondary in my pockets. Tomorrow I plan on switching it up by carrying my Indian Head C Risner for the first time, along with the SW 219:

Indian Head C Risner (I've had this for a year and a half and not carried yet):
......
Schrade-Walden 219 (seller's pic, I still need to get my own):
...
Sounds like an excellent plan, Vaporstang!:thumbsup: Congrats on your first carry of the Indian Head!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks GT!

The rodent is my son's brown hair guinea pig, long hair one, and the knife is GEC #54 Big Moose, natural stag.
Thanks for the double ID, Falling_rain. :)

5K Qs 5K Qs The French knife does have a liner lock and a very smooth open with a satisfying snap at lockup (great detent at close as well)
Thanks for the follow-up, JTB; sounds like quite a nice knife!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Your sleeveboard pen knife (GEC #26) is super classy, Travman!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

...
LOL! :D Smashing threesome GT, but I have always thought your Office Knife stands out

I'm carrying my ebony Lambsfoot today, together with a Harrison Fisher Crown Penknife that I started the week with, like this one :) Hope everyone has a good Friday, and an even better weekend

Thanks, Jack. :) Your pair is one to be proud of; the ebony lambsfoot looks so capable!:thumbsup:

Hey GT, Thanks! I’m glad you like that photo. You know what they say how even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then...

I believe the Wenger is a Highlander. I could not remember for sure, so I found this website ~

http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Highlander

I will no doubt revisit that site.

That little guy is a Schrade 12OT peanut.
Thanks for the identification assistance, Jeff. :) I've spent lots of time at SAK Wiki, but looking almost exclusively at Victorinox models. I don't think my mind is sharp enough anymore to handle Vics AND the corresponding Wenger models!

Very nice Keen Kutter, Gary.
...
In my pocket today.

Thanks for the Keen Kutter Kompliment, Dean. :) For some reason, your pic made me think you'd gone to visit some Hobbits! ;):cool:

Thanks GT! I have a suspicion I may be getting another for my birthday later this month, as my girlfriend asked me "What is better, Santos wood or Micarta?" ;) It is a little strange in that I expected this to be a good knife; Mike hit a home run with the Roundhead. I didn't expect to like it this much though. It checks many boxes for me: D2 steel with a thin edge, great ergonomics, nice walk and talk, and just the right size (I find the Case Sodbuster Jr. just a bit too small). It took me maybe 20 minutes total to tune it. Looking forward to your impression when you are "surprised" for Christmas :). The office knife is a looker

For me today:

I've been impressed with the colors of your bocote Plow, Tom, but I think this was the first time I noticed how stellar the grain is!!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: The "triple knots" along the length of the mark side liner are outstanding!:cool::thumbsup:

... (Fishing was great. Lines in the water at 7:00 am and the three of us limited out with two fish each by 7:45 am.)

I'm not a fisherman, but your rapid success on your recent expedition makes it seem hardly worth the effort!

I tend to like Battle Axe Brand knives... This 3" half hawkbill is a fun knife to carry. You can see my cellphone reflected in the pin heads.

The earlier discussion of canoes and canoeurship... has caused me to put my Rogers Wostenholm/Schrade 1978 NKCA knife in my other pocket.

Couple of splendid knives, Stuart.:thumbsup: That Battle Axe makes quite an impression: captivating jigged bone, curved handle shape, blade stamp (etch?), Barlow-sized bolster!:thumbsup::thumbsup: The NKCA canoe is one of my favorites (I have #2787 - pretty close to yours).:)

Weather is kind of cold and miserable here, but I'm hoping to get out for a bit of a hike with these two :)

Terrific two for the road, Jack!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Unusual color for that Alox!!:thumbsup:

... I had really forgotten what a great edc Case’s single bladed 048 pattern is. If you haven’t tried one I suggest that you give one a try.

Just got a yellow delrin CV version, thanks to Whetstone39!:cool::thumbsup: My first impression is that it looks and feels MUCH different than the standard 2-blade trapper!:cool:

I have a new Cadet courtesy of Gary (5K Qs). It'll be in my pocket everyday from here on out. :)

Jack Black Jack Black Splendid choices. Love the handles on those two.

Today is a fixed and a slippie.

Enjoy the weekend, everyone.

That Stag is a beauty, Jack!

Thanks a lot guys :)

I agree about the spey blade, Jack. I think GEC did a great job "tweaking" the blade. It's a pleasure to use.

I hope you have a good hike. I've done a few in miserable weather, but once you get going it's all good, especially with those two knives.

It's the only Spey I've ever really liked  Thanks a lot Dean, when I was a youngster I used to quite enjoy day-hikes in the rain! I'm not so keen on them now, but fortunately, while cold, it stayed dry, more or less :)

I decided to pop the tube on this 2016 Rendezvous souvenir to go along with my AW Lambsfoot for Stag Saturday! Hope y’all have a great weekend!

Thanks GT, I am very happy with it. Is that a #42 you have on kitchen duty? My favorite GEC pattern :).

Had these two with me on the trap range today. One of the range employees offered to buy the bark river, I politely refused :).

Thanks, GT. We drank a few beers to our morning's fishing success, which stretched the experience out a bit. The Little Battle Axe is almost peanut size - 3" closed. Quite handy. I was pretty sure that I remembered your NKCA canoe. I have only a few canoes, but I do like them.
