Everybody seems to be smiling and eating, and the food was all eaten - looks like you did good, bud. Congrats for starting the holidays out well, especially for the grandparents. (Ahem, I do like that fixed blade.)Had the ex in laws in town from Maine today (this week actually). Hosting a Christmas party so for the first time they can be here when their grandchildren open their gifts (boy is 16, girl is 6). My ex stepson came over for it. They had some lobsters sent down ahead of time. First time this coonass ever cooked lobster. They say it came out right. Personally, I would have done it in crab boil with taters and corn but that’s not how they say it should be done! Plus I made a big gumbo to go along. These two helped me. I wish I had an in action photo. The fixed blade is a new one from a local knife maker and friend @autogateman
This is what a pile of coonasses leaves behind from a pile of lobster.

Cigar cutter cutter? Both nice.
Sweet looking knife, Ace. Are you referring to a dye job on the handle and did you do it? BTW, I removed the cover, dropped the top, and took my open air car out for a spin today, too. What a great day to tool about!

Nice Ettrick! You got there early for a good seat?
I often joke about "taking in strays" and "r8shell's Home for Worn and Wayward Knives" but sometimes an old knife just speaks to me.

Someone used this old Boker hard, but they loved it enough to reshape the main blade after they broke the tip. Such pocket-worn bone, it was someone's worry stone. I flushed out the dirt with lots of oil, and I'm going to put fresh edges on the blades today.
Glad to see you afoot![]()
Little Blue Dozier helped feed the backyard birds today.

I liked hiking in the woods when I was a kid and I have not grown out of it yet. In the rain is not a favorite now, but I try to soldier through. I'm staying with the Spey for awhile - it is a good blade.
