You got a very nice Hummingbird 35 there, interesting light colour swirl on it. Those Garronais are a tough knife, mine has murderous snap, enough to chop off a finger well, maybe not surprising, the French did invent the guillotine after all

Yessir! I got this particular version of the Garonnais for the shield, which is an Occitan Cross or Cross of Toulouse.

You got a very nice Hummingbird 35 there, interesting light colour swirl on it. Those Garronais are a tough knife, mine has murderous snap, enough to chop off a finger well, maybe not surprising, the French did invent the guillotine after all

I was very pleased when I saw the variations in that Hummingbird. It is also a very smooth opener. No jokin' on the Garonnais! They didn't hold back on the backspring tension. It is a shame it doesn't have a stop pin to keep the blade tip from rapping against the backspring if you snap it shut, but I guess that's how they were traditionally made.
