What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Victorinox Gardener. About 2 1/8" of edge but a nice full size handle (4") makes it comfy to hold and use.

Paul, that #66 is very sharp. I don't generally care for colored scales but that looks great. Nice patina! Mind me asking what you used to get that look?

My new to me/used Buck 500 has been in my pocket every day since Christmas morning. It's going to be a very long time before this is displaced. Perfect size for me.

I'm dipping my toes in the water. Traditional patterns aren't usually my style, but I really like my Case "American Workman" Sodbuster.

I know I posted it up yesterday, but this time I have a real picture.

Carried a case cv peanut, queen large stockman, and a benchmade bone collector today.
I did use my mora classic 1 to cut up my steak to give it credit, even if it did not leave my house.

I hadn't seen the model in person until earlier this year when I spotted it for sale at Target in a package with another SAK. I think it may also be referred to as the Florist or Floral model. One interesting thing about it is that the edge is ground only on the mark side. For a right hander that's not the side you really want the edge on for some tasks but overall it does fine. Good to keep around as a knife that you can grab to cut whatever's needed and not worry about it, like a sodbuster.

If the people around you are anything like the people around me, I suspect they'll be less put off seeing that Sodbuster come of your pocket than any modern tactical folder. "That's a nice old knife" is the most common response I get.

That is the grind found on grafting knives. I don't know about florist knives, but they could be the same.

I saw that same package at Target, if I weren't on a shoestring budget I would have brought one home.

Yes, I would imagine so. I've already received a few compliments rather than the rare "watch out" type comments. They usually don't bug me. :D

Surprisingly enough, my grey endura doesn't appear to put many people off either. They seem to make more comments when I use something like the BK-11, even though it is a smaller knife. I'm not sure if it's the fixed blade or the black color.

Oh, and as an anti threadjack measure, the soddie is in my pocket today too.

Today is a good day to have a bottle opener handy...
