What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I was carrying the Case Teardrop for the previous week. I have never had a Teardrop before. I found the single blade version to be awfully thin in the handle but I do enjoy thinking this was maybe a style Lincoln might have carried. Is that right ? Good useful blade.
anyway . . .

Here's a link to the Library of Congress website that gives a bit of information on Lincoln's pocket knife. It's a 6 blade Congress pattern.

I have two great pups! I wish I had some photos but my wife is the photo lover.

I suspect nothing will apart from another 494. An incredible gesture by @sitflyer leaves me the proud owner of a new one!Or at least will be when it arrives in the mail. The search will be over! Now where is that mail man...

Any idea on the maker of Lincoln's congress? Curiosity 'ya know!
Rick
It is a Wm. Gilchrist Celebrated Razor Steel (William Gilchrist, Sheffield, England) congress, 6 blades, ivory scales, 3.54" (9 centimeters) closed, supposedly with a "silver mounting". I don't know if the latter is nickel silver bolsters or a silver shield. President Lincoln purchased it in Kentucky. Google is your friend.

Been carrying two classics:

Thank you Stuart. Sounds better than ever, my kind of size too. A wonderful addition to your collection, glad to see it!

Thats nice Gen'. What are the covers?

Thanks for the follow-up info about your Jokers, gentlemen!:cool::) My Joker is definitely bigger than I typically carry, but I don't realize how big it is when I'm carrying it like I have this week.
I appreciate the positive comments on my SAKs (and other knives). Tom, your photos have probably been major contributors to my "Alox Pox". donn, that German sodbuster is cool. Are those snowdrops in the photo, and are they currently blooming???
- GT

Yip there snowdrops and there in full bloom at the moment; and have been for a weeks. We've not many of them but some of our neighbour's lawns are blanketed in them
I accidentily deleted the pic but that's a lovely looking peanut btw.

Flatblackcapo,
I got your background :) but could I please see another photo of that handle on the Case.
Looks fantastic . . . and is that spear point blade as beefy as it appears ?

Always good to see that others appreciate fine bicycle tools. Check out Abbey Bike Tools, if you haven't already.
The handle material is G10

The spear blade is a bit beefy at 2 mm thick

It's warm enough to get out in the garage and I don't have a full honeydew list. Two rare occurances occuring at once, I'll take it!
