Thank you for the kind wishes and the compliment, Jack, I very much appreciate them. Wonderful pair you are toting today, that pseudo "Barlow" is quite attractive, especially with that curvaceous horn.


I am carrying these two today. I recently got in a 2-blade #15 and it is everything I had hoped it would be. I find it interesting that when selecting, handling, carrying, and using knives, certain elements become big factors in whether you prefer the knife or not. I have a number of single blade 15s and though I enjoy them and they are very easy on the pocket, their slimness tends to be their undoing as I find them to be on the small side of the spectrum. Add a second blade, spring, and liner, and you have a completely different knife. One that fills the hand comfortably and adds some heft to an otherwise very light knife.

I think I am really going to enjoy this knife.

My new all Case carry, the Swayback in my watch pocket the Soddie in my jacket pocket, both are CV which I prefer.

Those are two great knives - I carry a pair like that quite often.

Today I am carrying 2 Oldies but Goodies . Remington R3153 with punch and Robeson split back whittler . Both are good solid and tight knives .

That spey blade TC and the sheath are top-shelf, Dean! A spearpoint blade is my favorite, but a spey is in my top three. I think I'd really like to find a mini trapper with spey and wharncliffe; that would definitely be an "improved mini trapper" IMHO!

Thanks, Gary! I would normally not even consider a single blade spey, but the way GEC & Charlie designed the TC New Day just grabbed me - and continues to do so.

My Miscellaneous Knife for this week is a #77 BF stag jack, except mine has bone handles (thanks, Mark):

This little guy I just pulled out of the tube is such a nice knife it’s going to be hard to carry . But decided to give it a ride tomorrow in a comfy leather slip .

You know a knife is quality when it is still beautiful in close-up.

Thanks. I believe you and I both favor multi-bladed knives. On the other hand (or pocket), I'm growing to like my Lambsfoot knives more and more. A perfect combination of large and small.
