What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I let my 2 blade ebony one go. It just didn't do it for me. Myself, I wasn't big on the (non-stainless) steel liners and bolsters. Loved the coping blade, but it all felt a bit heavy and dense with the 2 blade (and 2 backsprings and extra liner). I also let go of my ebony wharncliffe talon. Kinda wish I'd kept it. I finally got a single blade spear, in OD micarta. Still dreaming of getting my hands on an ebony. I just love the elegant slimness of this pattern with the single spear.

That said, I'd definitely be in for a 92 forum knife, regardless of blade(s). I'm more of a user than a collector, but I could use and/or collect the 92 pattern with the right accoutrements. It's definitely a knife GEC didn't make enough of the first time, and needs to revisit in the future (hopefully soon).

Given a free-hand, what I'd really like is an all stainless version (liners, bolster, shield, blade) single blade Spear, Longpull in Ivory Bone  Generally, i much prefer single blades or single-spring Pen construction to Jacks. Obviously, with the 92 a Pen construction is out of the question but I don't find the Jack Eureka too bulky personally. I had a Talon Wharncliffe but didn't fancy it and sold it to a member here, a Spear Talon in Ebony was given to me by Ken K from Canada and it just amazingly good :)

Regards, Will

Sweet Camillus!! What type of Indian stone is that in the picture?

Burnt Stag.
I have no what the stone is. It’s just a round stone that my daughter pulled out of a creek bed for me, back when she was 5. I brought it in to work as a paper weight. Now it sits on a window sill in my office, with my plants.

Not for long, I'll bet! Nice little knife, but you grabbed a couple of real beauties over the last couple of days! Congrats! -Lance
Thanks Lance, I felt fortunate to get that 76 Outlaw. Not sure if I will ever carry the Elk 72 or just admire it. One thing for sure , I have blown my knife budget out of the water here lately.

Beautiful pair, Ron,:cool::thumbsup: but I'm a little disoriented by the sizes. Is that lambsfoot larger than "usual" or is the TC Barlow a #14 (or both)??
Thanks for the compliment Gary! :) The Lambsfoot is a bigun and the TC is a 15. :D

I would have posted this earlier today but someone forgot to charge his iPad!:D
This one is new. It’s a Schatt & Morgan #01 Sway Belly Trapper, 1095 and Walnut. I was quite impressed when I took it out of the box.

That sounds very tempting Donn, I'm going to have to go outside Yorkshire at some point! ;) The pancakes were nice, but very sweet! Came with some sort of cinnamon apple affair, and a lot of maple syrup. Maybe I'll just stick to having them once a year in future! ;) :D
My problem with regular pancakes is they absorb so much syrup before it becomes taste-able. Potato pancakes made with leftover cooked potatoes are a good solution to my problem.

In my view GEC achieved a major feat with the Eureka 92. A rare and scarce pattern, great proportions on this, a proper secondary blade....all steel construction (no brass yippee!:D) Barehead, I like the waved green bone jigging, absolutely tight construction no gaps or play, ace W&T too:) Well I like it at least! I've always hoped it could be used as a platform for a Forum Knife, either 1 blade or two but I have no say in these matters ;)

I with you on the 92 forum knife idea! My ideal 92 blade combo would be a long pull clip main with a little lambsfoot secondary or maybe a coping blade.

Nice Soldier, FBC!:cool::thumbsup: I carried mine last week, and was reminded how much I like it. Did yours come with the bail? Mine doesn't have one, and I'm considering making/buying one.
That Soldier did come with that bail on it but I think I got it off the exchange so the previous owner may have added it. I really like your selection of blades that you posted. You reminded me again that I still need to pick up a Mercator.

Now, that is NICE!

Back to the Churchill today.

Thank you Dylan, I always enjoy your photographs, and this one is no exception :) Great red and black pairing my friend :)

Thank you, Jack, very much appreciated.

Travman and Dylan, that stag Forum knife was a gift from MarkSharpe, and I never asked him why he had done the modification. Maybe just practice as he honed his knife-making skills? As you both remark, the bone that replaced the stag is quite distinctive and appealing. Dylan, that red clip/pen 15 is, to me, a quintessential jack knife.

Thank you for the explanation, GT. He did a stellar job on it regardless of his reasoning. I'd have to agree with your comments regarding the blade configuration and types on this Jack, it is indeed rather notable.

Carrying the 15 and a Lambsfoot again today, though I swapped out the Special Horn for Ebony.

Another great pic, and another winning combination my friend

I woke up to a fresh blanket of snow this morning, and it is still falling, so I'm not sure what I will be up to today (I certainly have plenty to do at home). I am carrying these two though, an A.Wright Lambsfoot and a Dutch Army Knife
