5K Qs
Thanks, GT, for your compliments and for your extensive erudite, educational, and consistently comforting commentary for all of us on the Porch. The few days that I was away accentuated, for me, the true value (as measured in warmth and information, as well as the axiomatic advantage of alliterations) in reading your observations, much less getting a kindly nod. It's good to be back.
- Stuart
Somehow this didn't make it into my most recent post. I enjoy your rhetorical skills, and thanks for the kind sentiments!
Today I am carrying 2 Oldies but Goodies . Remington R3153 with punch and Robeson split back whittler . Both are good solid and tight knives .

Harry
Double goodness, Harry!

In general, I like the old ones better than the new ones - just a nostalgic, sentimental fool, I guess.
Thanks, Gary! I would normally not even consider a single blade spey, but the way GEC & Charlie designed the TC New Day just grabbed me - and continues to do so.
...
It is always a joy to see that beauty, GT. Such beautiful bone is rare to see.

...
For me, another day with the CSC 2015 Forum knife.
Thanks for your kind comments, Dean.

That sure is a handsome Forum knife!

Before the next storm it was a beautiful day.
I'm getting quite tired of winter, but blue sky and bright sunshine on fresh snow is certainly a good look!
One of my favorite TV shows as a kid was "Leave It to Beaver"; I think you can take that as knife advice now!!

Thanks. I believe you and I both favor multi-bladed knives. On the other hand (or pocket), I'm growing to like my Lambsfoot knives more and more. A perfect combination of large and small.

"Perfect" is usually an overstatement, but you must be getting close there, r8shell!

Jolly good jigging!!

In my view GEC achieved a major feat with the Eureka 92. A rare and scarce pattern, great proportions on this, a proper secondary blade....all steel construction (no brass yippee!

) Barehead, I like the waved green bone jigging, absolutely tight construction no gaps or play, ace W&T too

Well I like it at least! I've always hoped it could be used as a platform for a Forum Knife, either 1 blade or two but I have no say in these matters
I always enjoy seeing your Eureka jack, Will!

...Thanks 5K. For me pies aren't so much a series, more like a very long running saga....
Apologies for the late replies gents, I had a few days away in the fine city of Bratislava in the Slovakian Republic.
...
Not as nice as that but a little French something for me today also.
Sounds like you had an enjoyable trip, donn!

You're such an international man of mystery: British meat pies, French knives, Austrian rivers, Slovakian vistas ...

I always have a favorite knife and right now it is this one.

IMHO, that's a fantastic candidate for favorite knife!

Nice trio of unique knives there, Gary. Does the blade on the MAM lock up pretty tight when open?
Thanks, Ratbert.

The MAM is a friction folder at heart, but I can find NO vertical play with the liner lock deployed. (And people remark on the lock being "backwards" but I prefer its direction of movement compared to "normal" ones.
Todays carry are these 2 from a couple of my young friends from here on the Porch . Both of them are made of Unobtainium . Two of my favorite knives ( but I have many ) . Old Cutler and Case XX

I had to check out The Car On The Lake this morning since we did have 2 thawing days . ...

Impressive pair of Barlows, Harry!

Thanks for the Car on the Lake updates!
Thanks, GT. I really like your whittlin' canoe. And I liked your nod to this pairing by
@oldmanrunning and

I have a couple of those lockback canittlers and am quite fond of the pattern.
Case chestnut bone SBJ and SBJr is tough to beat, Stuart!

Here's an old, bad pic of my trying to show that they're symmetric twins, sort of:
I've been on a bit of a barlow binge of recent, so in honor of Wooden Wednesday I am carrying this guy today:
The placement of the center pin indicates that this is not an original Russell, possibly a Camillus or who knows.
- Stuart
Nice Barlow, Stuart!

Someday I'm gonna track down a nice vintage Barlow.
Thanks GT ! It's what Camillus called Derlin Stag.
Thanks for the info, Steve.

I'm impressed that I can still remember where I live these days GT!

Thank yoy for the very kind words, I posted a few pics of some of the other knives I had with me in the Lambsfoot thread, but I also had these other three, all by Stan Shaw

Three special knives there my friend, but I particularly admire the Mercator
Thanks for the informative response and encouraging comments, Jack! That Stan Shaw trio is something to write home about!!

What's the story with the markings on the bolsters of some of the Schrade Wostenholm knives like that stockman in the middle?
Great K55 there, I must pick up a proper K55 myself.
...
Thanks, donn.
...
Stan is still on the go, and will still take orders, but
his waiting list is several years long
Whoa!

I admire his optimism! I make few plans beyond next week these days.
Holy Cow, that's an amazing knife, Jamie!!

...
Enthralling knife and slip, Dean!

Thanks for the compliment Gary!

The Lambsfoot is a bigun and the TC is a 15.

...
Thanks for the size info, and congrats on the lovely S&M, Ron!

Venerable old girl!

...
That Soldier did come with that bail on it but I think I got it off the exchange so the previous owner may have added it. I really like your selection of blades that you posted. You reminded me again that I still need to pick up a Mercator.
...
Back to the Churchill today.
Thanks for your reply, FBC.

That Churchill is the prime minister of recent GEC releases, IMHO.

...
Thank you for the explanation, GT. He did a stellar job on it regardless of his reasoning. I'd have to agree with your comments regarding the blade configuration and types on this Jack, it is indeed rather notable.
...
Thanks for the comments, Dylan.

I like your crossed blades pic, and that #15 must be a chameleon - the red looks much different to me today than in the previous day's pic!
