What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

...
Much appreciated, Gary! I'm glad you haven't gotten tired of seeing them!

I was wondering! A nice line up for your daily use, Gary.
Definitely not tired of those Ohtas! (But my wife considers me odd because I can eat the same breakfast every day, or chili every night until it's gone. Guess I'm not easily bored! :rolleyes:) Thanks for the positive comment on my 3 knives. :)

Beard&Owl Beard&Owl , that Wiseman sowbelly really is an attention-grabber! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: What's the secondary blade shape? Coping blade??

5K Qs 5K Qs Gary, yes it is big knife! But it is extremely light with its modern components.

Case Walnut Rogers Jigged Bone.

I loved the color and jigging of this Mini-Cooperlock but was not a fan of the shield Case selected for that series. @glennbad took care of that by swapping out the original shield with this diamond. Great work Glenn, thanks.

Those Walnut Rogers bone Cases are ALL lookers, IMHO, and your mini copper lock is no exception, Leslie! Glenn has the touch, doesn't he? :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Nice lineman; handy, too! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Today, I decided on my scratted Ancient and a Vic Pocket Pal.

Thanks, Dean. :) I like your simple/sublime pairing! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks GT, so far so good, though the weather forecasters are talking about another snow dump for Easter! :eek: :( :thumbsup:
...
Nice-looking line-up GT :) :thumbsup:
...
Enjoy spring(s) while it lasts, Jack! ;) Thanks for your comment on my selections, and your Head Guardians Lambsfoot with sheath is looking as good as ever! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, GT. I just took a break from shoveling and cleaning up after a minor (luckily) chimney fire. Unfortunately, o time to pick some new carries or to photo them, so am sticking with the SAK and Opinel that I carried yesterday. Should be back to regukar order by cocktail time tonight.

Chimney fire sounds WAY less than ideal, Stuart!! :eek::thumbsdown: I'm glad it was minor! Could you take care of it yourself, or did it require fire department assistance?

Today with a Case XX Barlow in stag!!!

As can be seen in this picture that I took this morning, the snow is still with us, but the sun shines (as do the reflections). I am carrying the Case 08 half whittler (2007) and Case 07 mini trapper (1965-1969) today. My resistance to the peer pressure of previously posted Cases proved puny. The Remington R1128 SB Trapper (number 1433 of 5000 by Camillus in 1989) is a prop today. It will remain snuggled in its flocked box.

Note the funky optical "delusion" that makes the main on the half whittler appear curved. It's the juxtaposition of the choil/kick over the white "R" on the box cover. Made me look twice at the knife in hand.

Okapi Sable, eh? I've never heard of that before, but it is an interesting looking knife! Thanks for sharing it.

My wife calls me "Johnny one note", among other things. We frequent a few local restaurants where I always know exactly what I'm going to order. She doesn't understand that I spent years figuring out what I liked best! :D

I was able to smother it by closing the top sealing damper and covering the fireplace opening with a large sheet metal panel, but after lots of smoke and dust. It cleaned the chimney of creosote, our chimney sweep told me, but also fried the top sealing damper. All's good now. Thanks.

I see what you did there (great old song). Great trapper, too. I like those covers, though I don't have many with them (yet).

Sharp knife and sharp words for me this morning.

Not as sharp as the line of questioning I got about my intentions in going to the Badger Knife Show today!

Back to what I carried as a dumb kid....if I only knew then!!!

IMG_2026.jpg

Ah. Guns, guitars, and knives...
If I’d only known then what I know now.

Of course, I had little money back then, so I was perfectly content with two Schrades.

My wife calls me "Johnny one note", among other things. We frequent a few local restaurants where I always know exactly what I'm going to order. She doesn't understand that I spent years figuring out what I liked best! :D

She may tease, but I’ll bet she likes that you stick with old faithful rather than chasing new things!
