What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The Coats I've seen before (and admire very much) but what's the one on the bottom?

Nate, it's a Hen & Rooster CM-6 from back in the days when A.G. Russell owned H&R. (1976) 2 7/8 inches closed. (it looks bigger in my pic because it's closer to the lens) I just got it a couple days ago and it's in my pocket again today. Real nice little knife.

This blade looks fantastic.
Mike

I've been carrying this one for the last few weeks.

I've got this Half Congress, made by Rick Menefee, in my pocket today.

Whoa - Nathan, that's Case stag?!? I thought it was a custom at first glance. You definitely reeled in a nice one.

Thanks for the comments on the GEC.

I've always liked that half congress Gary, very nice.

Thanks Rick. I picked it up at the Gator Knife show in Lakeland, FL a few weeks ago. A guy there had some really nice Case stag selections and I couldn't pass that one up. I do 99.9% of my knife buying/shopping online so it was a very nice experience to have so many knives right in front of me and the ability to pick the one I wanted. Learned my lesson buying Case stag online :)

I'm normally hesitant to employ trendy euphemisms, but "i lol'd" when I saw the skull bead on a traditional knife pouch :D. No offence, of course - the knife and leather are beautiful.

haha I put that under my belt to avoid losing it (works pretty well)...plus I like the emerson skull beads, i'd put them on other trads if I had some with lanyard holes :p

Oops sorry, missed your reply. It is only about 8 months now, but doing well. I'm getting a working patina, but do not want to force it.

Excellent-- thanks for getting back to this.

Mine arrived today, and I'm looking forward to using it and the honest patina that results.

To keep on track with this thread: I took my mini copperlock out of my pocket to open the shipping box containing my sway back jack. :-)

A very good day.

Thanks, guys. It's a forced patina--almost looks hot-blued in person--using boiling cider vinegar (brush on with a cotton ball, polish out until even with non-abrasive silver polish, repeat five or six times). It was really stained and blotchy from cutting a lot of fruit over several months, so I figured it would be a good blade for some experimentation.

I must try this out soon! The results looked massively impressive.

Today, the White Owl has been nesting in my pockets, very pleased with the pattern.

Today, the Sway Back Jack below:

Also (in the interests of full disclosure), the Tiny Trapper, and the Boker Small Congress in my watch pocket.

They're all relatively new, and I like having them near. :-)
