I am carrying the amber bone SS mini copperhead today. I haven't posted a photo of it in a good while so I thought I'd let you guys look at it again.

Rick, if they made that with a pen blade secondary (maybe they do and I haven't seen one), I'd be all over it. That's a beautiful knife.

Thanks. I like your copperhead, too.

The half-congress #62 doesn't come with a pen blade yet (I prefer a coping blade, myself - it cuts like a tiny X-acto knife), but the whittler version has one. The latter is just a bit thicker across the handle, but the pulls are lighter (the two-blade pulls can be bears).

I saw that picture often when first browsing these forums starting in December.

It never gets old. :)

Your killin me man.
I gotta get me a new peanut, a couple new bucks, two saks - and now this.

I'm still on the new Case medium stockman. So far I have deburred the kicks, lightly lowered the kick on the spey and slightly blunted the point so it doesn't slice my palm open with the main clip open, thinned the bevels, tightened the bolsters with leather and a rubber hammer, treated the scales with brown paste wax, and gotten out most of the excess shield epoxy. Others might have opted to return the knife but I like doing these sorts of little projects in my spare time.

A couple quick questions: what does the paste wax do for the scales, and how did you remove the excess shield epoxy (without removing the epoxy necessary to affix the shield)?

Thanks!

Paste wax (aka shoe polish :o) protects the natural bone (mineral oil would do as well) and in this case darkens the scales a little more to my liking. The epoxy was literally bulging out from the sides of the shield so it was just a matter of scraping carefully around the shield with an awl.

Thanks much for your response.

Now, back to the Totin':

I was going to go for the Mini Copperlock alone, but foresee each of these finding a pocket throughout the day. ;-)

another off topic question, you have some tips on doing that, blade opened or closed, hit the bolster/pin ? I have some lateral play in my medium stockman clip point, maybe i can fix it myself if it gets even looser in time.

today im toting the same chestnut peanut as yesterday.
