What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My last Northwoods, didn't notice it was marked with a "2" until I took these pics. Probably because of the imperfection on the mark side that appears to be a crack. Feels smooth, looks more like a vein to me than a flaw.

Pile side is super creamy.

Great pics and impressive cover materials set KSF high above the rest, RIP Derrick.

Love that smooth bone.

Creamy is right! It almost looks like antique ivory.

Peerless pair, Jack!:thumbsup: Colorful field behind the copperhead!

Thanks GT, I was planning a hike there for tomorrow, but the weather has turned rotten here, so we'll see. That's Sandal Castle up on the hill (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandal_Castle), and those yellow rapeseed flowers hide a bloody history, one of the most significant battles of the English War of The Roses was fought there (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Wakefield), a 'King' died in those fields.

Thanks for the info about Knaresborough and about Colditz, Jack! :) And nothing beats a math pun! :D:D

You are welcome my friend, but you might not be getting many more of those math puns! :D

My Alox this week is smooth and red on a Vic Secretary (thanks, Ken):

A scarlet blade! ;) Very nice GT :)

I thought I'd taken some pics of my new 2018 ebony Guardians Lambsfoot yesterday, but I'd forgotten to put the memory card in my camera! o_O Still carrying it though ;) Along with this GEC Boy's Knife

OH, the yellow 303 is from 1987, if I read the stamp correctly. What are the pulls and snap like?

Jeff, the pulls are a little stronger than the current knives (quite pleasant) - I'd say a "6" opening and closing - good snap both ways. This knife was made with the original two spring construction (one for the main blade and one for the two secondary blades). I have a 1990 with three spring construction (one for each blade), it drops to a "5" but still has a satisfying "click" with each open and close of the three blades. The current models I checked (I've got some 2012 and 2013 versions of the 301 & 303) are a "4". Buck is redesigning and retooling for the 300 Series right now - hope they will give the knives a little more "umph" in the walk and talk area as they do the changes - as a company they normally are very responsive to their customer's desires. OH
