What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Great looking couple!
Does the fixed blade carry nice?
Thanks for the nice comment! The fixed blade is 6" OAL and the sheath has a belt loop. The Damascus is 0-1 and 15N20. Knife and sheath were made by Burt Foster, MS. He calls them his "Dark Side" knives. It carries pretty nicely, is easy to get at and pretty comfortable to use considering it's a slab of Damascus that is forged and then finished. I should carry and use it more.

I was looking at it one day and it dawned on me that the BF (Burt Foster) mark could be BladeForums.

Nice, I really like that. I could see it being real comfortable for a hike or camping ( when I say "camping", these days it's either our camp trailer or cabins!);)

Peregrin Peregrin Burt's Small Darkside is a great little knife, especially in damascus.
Burt makes a nice knife and his Damascus knives are exceptional, Jerry, as you know. I do like his Darksides in laminated steel too. The one I have was made just before he offered them in the laminate also.

I hear you! My days of a sleeping bag on the ground are behind me!

It's been several years since Burt made up any small Darksides in damascus. The last batch was offered with the kydex leather covered sheath which was a disappointment to me.

Mine came with a kydex necker sheath, including the paracord. He offered the leather sheath as an option, which I went for.

Nice find :) I have three GPO knives, one from the 60's, two from the 70's. Here are the two styles. There might even be a thread about them here somewhere

I forgot to address this yesterday, Jack, but might this be the thread you mentioned to @Blake the Blade ?

Taking a trip to Texas with these two in tow. I’m thankful to have excellent in-laws to visit with the family.
Have a safe and enjoyable trip and visit, Joshua - fine choice of two for the road!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Today again...

I always admire the "blade art" on this one. It looks to me like a dressed-up man from the city standing by a flowing stream.;)

Interesting scout knife, Gev; Crucible is a new brand to me!:thumbsup::cool:

I'm totin' two distant cousins for Twosday: a Schatt & Morgan hunter (1903-1932, 5.25") and a Winchester trapper (1989, 4"), both with Queen connections. Go big or go home (or something like that).

Thanks, Gary! Your Imperial Canoe is striking. As a Mini Canoe, what is its closed length?

My new 15 single spear in ebony kicked my elderberry 77 out of my pocket this afternoon when it came in... but I think the 77 will kick it back out later haha

My wife needed some area rugs cut up for trash pick-up, so I'm totin' these wooden handled hackers today: a MALCON duct knife and a J. Russell & Co. Green River Works hawkbill. The duct knife has a fearsome edge and cut all of the rugs (Olefin and jute backing) into smaller rolls quickly. The older (1884-1941) hawkbill stood as backup, as appropriate for its seniority (some prior owner polished the tang so much that only a single "diamond", & Co., and Green River Works remain).

It wasn't GT, but thanks for the link my friend, Alfredo actually gave me that knife :)

I like that headline! :D

That's a smashing threesome GT, but the pic of your Squirrel is outstanding :)

It is 3 and 7/8" closed. Here's my post when I received it. I had it made after I saw a similar one made for Charlie (Waynorth). I can't find the post now but I believe his, and therefore mine, was modeled after an old Remington catalog image (with some changes).

As for the Schrade 293/294 trapper handle, I wholeheartily agree. GEC's #48 pattern is very close and and a reason I have so many of them.

ETA: I found original post that inspired my knife. Though I suppose my knife resembles the R282 a little more. https://bladeforums.com/threads/ken-erickson-knives-a-retrospective.711933/page-68#post-10866391
Thanks for the reply and links!

Wonderful knives...
