What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

We stayed in Lake Charles. We didn't go out, except to buy some swim trunks (I forgot mine!) and to eat Chick-Fil-A (every southern child's favorite fast food joint).

lol I hear ya. My family is from near there. I’m back south of Baton Rouge.

We pass through Baton Rouge each time we make this trip. I did spent a couple of days in Monroe once when a couple of friends, my pastor, and I visited a sister church of ours coming back from a conference in Dallas. I've always wanted to try Boudin and Cracklins (I see the billboards everywhere), but I haven't worked up the courage.

There's a hardware store in Lake Charles that is a Case Platinum dealer. Walking into that place is like walking into FAO Schwarz!

I did some searching, and it sounds like you are talking about Trahan's hardware. There is one picture that shows their Case case. Looks impressive! There is a local hardware store where I live called Hall's Hardware that is also a platinum dealer. It is an awesome place to go--lots of unique things and a lot of useful hardware stuff, too. I talked to the "knife guy" there and tried to get him interested in GEC. I need to go back and see if he's checked them out yet.

Actually, I forgot about Trahan's. I was talking about Diamond Lumber. I did pick up Case Baby Doctor's knife from Trahan's, if I recall correctly. Diamond Lumber was on a completely different scale, though.

A DCL fixed blade in CPM 3V with laser thin flat grind and Ironwood covers, carried in a Joufuu pocket sheath. Paired with my latest favorite ebony Churchill:thumbsup:

Beautiful knife, Paul! And the fixed blade isn't half bad either. ;)

Seriously though, that Ironwood is stunning, makes for a gorgeous knife.
