I, too, have an abundance of knives, but still can't bring myself to use a traditional folder or fixed blade for kitchen duty (except afield). I have too many kitchen knives (and, I mean, too many) for that. But kudos to y'all who do so. (Yes, I'm too tentative.) It's a nice thing to see.

How can I love my pocket knives and ignore the chefs knives? Do others have this issue?
Jack, I think that is a great pair to carry for at least a couple of days!Hope you have a good visit my friend!
Today I'm totin' these two. Y'all have a great Thursday!

Along for the ride today, Eldon Talley City Knife, 5 3/4", Mammoth Ivory with ATS-34 blade.

Also our younger son who is a very good cook liked the knife a lot. I think when he moves out (again, due to an unfortunate change in lifes circumstances he moved back to our place) I will make him his own. How does a version with ebony handle sound?
The look my wife gives me when I “show and tell” which knife I’m carrying for the day. (From a 1928 Catalogue)

All-American knife line-up, as promised!Where did you get your gloves? I think I have some just like that that I picked up at a military surplus store in Lafayette IN in 1973 (but I've lost or worn out the wool inserts).
Thanks for the Tear Drop Jack vote; I think I favor that, but I've also heard at least these: dogleg jack, candle tip jack, bullet jack.
Thanks, Jack. That pair of "instant classics" should serve you well in extended carry!
Oldies/Goodies, Jeff!
I always look forward to the knife lessons I learn from your posts, Stuart!
My Bailed non-SAK of the Week is a Marbles Workman Camp Knife (thanks, Mike) that doesn't even have a bail, but it should:

Thanks, that erasure blade seems to catch the eye. "White-out" ribbon and fluid put that blade in the grave.
Thanks, GT. I find that I have two of those pruners. Gotta get to work outside. The bail of the boy's knife is a recent gift. The mini-trapper (formerly, dog leg jack) is my favorite.
My guess is that he will, Jeff. That's a great collection to get him started.

It's been a while since I've posted regularly, but thought I'd drop by to say hello. I hope everyone's doing well. By the way, I'm carrying a small ebony Brett Dowell dogleg today - sorry, no photo though as I haven't figured out an alternative to photobucket since they changed their policies - yes, it's been that long since I've posted. Again, I hope you're all doing terrific. All my best,
Stephen
Perfect picture of a perfect knife. I need more 26’s in my life.

Love that lighter colored Ancient.
All of my kitchen knives have terrible edges. I just don’t keep them touched up like I should. I have a Case Sod Buster Jr. that handles all of the paring knive jobs in the kitchen and excels at that.
