What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I miss Bob! I liked reading his blog...he certainly didn’t coddle anyone!

That’s a good-looking 15. Is the GEC shield on the blade etch red, or is it just a trick of the light?
For sure Bob didn't sugar coat anything. He was a stand up truth teller. The color on this photo is messed up. I'll get one up tomorrow.

Still carrying my Pepe Jalomo Lanny’s Clip this week. Something will eventually bump it, but not yet.

Added some watch pocket carry for the smaller cutting chores in life, a GEC #18 coyote w/Sangria Jigged Bone.

We have the real 4-legged ‘yotes everywhere in our area now. Neighbors are nervous about their little dogs and cats being outside. Armadillos are here too and I never saw one in the past. Wildlife on the move, expanding their territories.

I LOVE Trains and anything and everything about them, one of my most favorite sounds is a distant train whistle. I was working near the Hi-Line bridge today, it's one of the oldest and longest train bridges in the U.S. while working I saw the rail crew up on the bridge today. When growing up it was a rite of passage to walk across the bridge:cool::thumbsup:

Beautiful knives Paul and I enjoyed the photos and the history of the bridge too . There was a also a railroad " High Bridge " , not nearly that high or long , close to where I grew up out in the country . Most of us country guys walked it but the guys from the small town would not try it . Does your bridge have some small areas on it to get over to the side when a train comes ????

Experimenting with terpentine, oil, beeswax and heat (produced with hair dryer). I must have overdone it with the opinel since the surface did not dry but stayed sticky. Some gentle heat and rubbing with cloth solved the problem. Despite the new lock being not as good as the old style the Opinel will go to my pocket.

Edit: solved the problem with the Opinel lock ring by simply removing it with circlip pliers, squeezing the ring forcefully and so tightening it and then putting it back. Some grease and the lock works like a charm. Still not as good as the old one, but acceptable.

That thing is beautiful...I've never seen a #18 before. Is it comparable to a swayback jack in size?

Thank you! No, it is much smaller; only 2 & 3/4” inches closed. They are wonderful little detail knives, especially with the Wharncliffe blade.
