What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Looked all around my desk, my cigar box, my dresser top, the master bathroom countertop - all the places my pocketknives get left when I'm not carrying it - couldn't find my Case 6208 penknife anywhere. It was in my shorts pocket (the ones I was wearing) - guess it's wanting to be carried today. A bit premature senior moment! OH

Real nice 6208 with some beautiful bone on it, I love mine but this older one of yours has something extra nice about it.

It's a great pattern, but I don't even know why I love mine so much. Something about it just seems right and it's been making it into my pocket a lot since I got it.

Old Engineer Old Engineer Harry it looks like you come home to some tasty veggies! It’s a shame you didn’t bring your ribs home to go with those veggies! :eek: :D :thumbsup:
I can guarantee you that Nancy will make a better meal with those Vegetables than that restaurant did with those ribs .
Those ribs needed a crock pot , barbecue sauce , brown sugar , a little water , and about 6 hours . But they may have been better than your sandwich ????

H HFinn I hear you..:thumbsup: Went back to work recently and I really wonder why....nothing but sarcasm, complaints, people playing petty führer... nothing good enough and just don't expect any thanks or appreciation:eek: Nothing like encouragement and support, apparently not:rolleyes::D

Anyway, work is only one part of life, one's private life and interests are always a consolation and guide when work takes on a grim aspect. Nothing like an old friend pocket knife I say!
Here, an old Hoffritz Pen with completely sunk joints, nice long frame filling blades too.

Oh man, a lot of catching up to do. Today's carry is a factory assembly from this year's Rendezvous.

That's a great pattern, a lovely knife, and a fantastic pic Ken :) Thanks for introducing Emerald Dawn! ;) :thumbsup:

Sweet music, Jack! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Glad you eventually located that practically perfect penknife, OH! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Mellow Yellow, Jeff! :thumbsup::cool::cool: (Listened to Donovan's Greatest Hits today. ;))

I hope you have a great day every day this year, John! :):thumbsup: And I'm honored that you'll carry that RR stag canoe! :cool::cool: Certainly not very high quality stag, but a canoe is a wonderful pattern IMHO (I own more canoes than any other single pattern) and my undiscriminating taste is quite happy with stag of any ilk, especially when it's apparently becoming harder to come by. (I have a canoe with me that wouldn't pass muster in your building though, since it has a lockback blade.)

Lotta blade options in that bad boy! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

I think that's one of Case's prettiest offerings in the almost 4 years that I've been paying attention to current folder offerings! :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

That emerald Churchill is a real jewel, Ron! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: Sounds like you had another amazing Rendezvous experience! :):thumbsup::cool:

I was amazed how often I use the scissors when I started carrying a Vic Classic and then my current Minichamp! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

That's a unique and intriguing knife, Stuart! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Breathtaking, Nick! :eek::cool::thumbsup:

Does Joker, a Spanish knife maker, use English words for dog breeds to name their models?? :confused:
Awesome, Ken! Congrats on the special green Churchill! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: How did you like attending the Rendezvous?

This week I'm carrying this Rite Edge Barlow

and this Rough Rider lockback canoe (with a rather unusual saber grind on the spearpoint):

Nice one! Classy and I dig that saber grind. Cool shield too. Sunk joints makes it even better. Bone covers?

Always admire your garden Harry, really idyllic:thumbsup: You work hard there and it shows:)

Showing that English Lambfoot knife made me think you might like a little light music to go with it? Percy Grainger's An English Country Garden

Thanks, Will

Oh what a beauty that is!

I know this is a knife forum, but this has a relevance for knives, so bear with me. This dog of ours came to us through an unfortunate change in someones life. He came, chose us and has stayed. We don't have a need for hunting or guard dog, so this little Cavalier is just right for us. He has one job: to love his family and keep up the good spirits. He does his job 100%. He takes us for long walks, he shows his love every chance he gets. He has good manners with other dogs, so he does not get into trouble. Still he is no walkover. As he often is the older dog in a pack he puts misbehaving puppies in their place, even several times his size. He reminds once and then lets things be, like a good grownup should.

Like a good traditional knife. They have their place, they serve. They look good doing it. I have lost allmost all interest in tactical side of things, like I don't have a need for a german shepherd or pitt bull. To everyone his own, I don't judge anyone. Understand what is for you and follow the path, your own path. Beauty, balance and practicality go a long way.

So nice dogs and traditional knives are somewhat similar. They do not pretend to be anything else they are, they do not scare people around them. They just have a task and they fullfill their place with style and grace.

Sounds laughable, doesn't it :D Just a random thought.

That's a fine one, Will! What's the handle material?

In Slovenia, like in some other European countries, it's a public holiday today (Assumption of Mary). So I pulled out something a lil bit nicer out of the knife box.

I have no doubt at all about Nancy's cooking and the ribs were definitely better than our sandwiches! :eek: You didn't need any Pepto for dessert like Pam and I did!!! :(
