I am days behind but have a good excuse. Traveling with my daughters through Utah, Arizona and a little bit of Nevada. We spent a couple days in Zion and in Bryce today, tomorrow is the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The Victorinox Tinker has been in my pocket since we got off the plane.

Friction folder theme continues. I have often thought that this kind of knife could replace slip joints in my use, I find them actually safer than some slip joints.Like the two Opinel 10:s I have. I have yet to find where I actually really need the locking ring, one has it, one does not. They are equally safe and both work well.

I will get the Otter Hippekniep (Sodbuster) soon, so I'm interested in finding out how well it works. I had the Case model but did not like the plastic handle. Very slippery, I almost cut myself processing foodstufs. With beeswax treatment the wood might be better.
