From 1984. Scales are really pocket worn, but the blades are in pretty good condition and still can hold a wicked edge! being my first CV knife, I am loving it.

Just from your pictures, I'd say that "really pocket worn" = "really beautiful."

I like that knife a lot.

Doug,

My White Owl's scales are "autumn gold," brown with subtle yellow highlights (which unfortunately look more red in my sunlight picture above). This picture (not mine) is more accurate:

I really (really) like the look of Hummpa's Serpentine Jack, but 1) I love my Sway Back Jack in the "jack" spot, and don't need another as similar (yet ;)); 2) I didn't have a spear point main, nor a single-spring two-blader, and found this particular design very attractive-- especially in autumn gold, and yes, with the bail; 3) It's an owl. (Yes, marketing works on me.)

I'll still probably swoon a little each time someone posts something Serpentine, but I'm thrilled with this knife, my first GEC.

Thanks for that helpful reply. The White Owl is very nice. I had an ebony Tidioute that I just sold this week. I'll probably regret parting with it, but I got an offer I could not refuse and the money is going toward restoration of an old barlow I bought as a boy (the first knife I paid for with money I earned -- delivering newspapers). I know what you mean about the serpentine. I am trying to resist the urge.

SWEET amber stag on that Cramer Gary  What's the closed size?

Carrying my Davison striper today.
