What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The yellow saw cut bone 77 today. Have had 8 inches since morning. Shoveled the roof slide off my deck and re stocked my bird feeder for the finches:thumbsup:

Wow! I'm sitting on my porch at 6:47 pm and it's 85 degrees F!
Beautiful Barlow.

You're carrying some immaculate woods for your woods walk, Jeff! ;):thumbsup: Approximately where in Michigan is this National Forest?

If you know so much about Mr. Peabody, you're surprisingly mature, Rachel!:p Impressive work on the scout rehandle!:thumbsup:

Since the blade says Peabody Coal Company, I like the John Prine reference.

Newaygo County... do you know the area?

One other thing. I have no knives of this curious canoe shape. And I never felt deprived or lacking...
Until starting to look closely at yours, that is.
So while I enjoy yours vicariously, may I ask which was the one particular canoe that hooked you?

Finally finished the edge on this Shuffler. Probably took 2 1/2 hours total, spread out over 3 nights, to reprofile the edge to 30 degrees inclusive and finish sharpening it. I am much happier with the way it slices now. For my meager skills, this steel takes some time and patience to change the edge angle.

Nice Tom:thumbsup: I love when you finally get that elusive edge/profile:cool: and isn't it fun when you can get those fine paper curls;):)

Only the best people enjoy feeding the birds:D
Careful you don’t drop that TC and have to wait for spring to find it!

Nice Case!
Thanks! It's one I found in a house we cleaned out. It was in pretty rough shape, wobbly blade, dull, covered in roofing tar, bolsters beat up pretty bad. Finally cleaned all the gunk out, tightened the bolsters, peened the pivot pin, filed the roughest abuse out of the bolsters. Left some dents and dings, kinda gives it an "ancient" look, lol not quite as snappy as I'd like but not bad either. Really glad I decided to dump an old cigar box sized box out to see what was in it besides old papers, before stuffing it in a garbage bag, ;)

Satin bolsters look good but I prefer polished.

Pareidolia face on the left is a little creepy … Halloween coming!

Extreme close up shows a little nose and mouth inside the larger one eyed's mouth … now that's really creepy.

Awesome grain on that Olneya tesota.

BTW, Don't drop the knives while fishing! Olneya Ironwood, like Ebony, is denser than water and won't float. :D

It was 80 here today.........

Large knife today, Lionsteel Big Opera stag. This pushes the limit of traditional so maybe this fits the "modern traditional" role. I had thought to sell this knife, but thought again. It is a remarkably well made knife. Action is very smooth, lock is very solid. The handle, while slightly chubby fills the hand very well and is comfortable. Sexy if I may say so :)

It needed a pocket/belt sheath and I had this TOPS sheath that had little use. I wetted it, molded to the Lionsteel and it is now drying on the windowsill.
