What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I don't understand how it got to be Thursday evening and I haven't posted any of my knives for this week yet!:(
And I'm also 13-15 pages behind in commenting about all the marvelous knives in this thread. Guess I'll have to restrict my self to a comments on a couple of posts per page, and try to catch up about 5 pages at a time. Best laid plans ...

...The mini copperhead is smaller (but I really do like them both).:);)
Thanks for the insight into your decision, Dean.:) (I think I'd have made the same choice, but because of 2 blades.)

Thanks Gary. That game was painful to watch but in the grand scheme of things, completely meaningless in my life. I didn't graduate from OSU, just sent a lot our money to them; our son is an OSU grad.;):D
Yeah, I suppose many of us tend to get worked up over things that are meaningless in the grand scheme of things. But I can understand how you'd like to get even more return on your OSU investment. ;)

Yes GT the blades are on opposite ends.
Thanks for the info, Dwight :); I've gradually become quite a fan of knives wit a blade at each end, especially if it has a single spring.

Such a soulful sowbelly, Gev; I like the cut of its jig(ging)!:cool::thumbsup:

...Ya gotta love those humpbacks.
...
Fab' four! I can see why you grabbed them all.
I really like that RR Stockman. Great covers and that long clip looks like a fantastic slicer.

Thanks for the supportive remarks about my knives, especially the stockman variations, FBC. :)
That's a superb photo of your Sodbuster!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

...
I love the pumpkin pose, but the thought of you scampering around in your Lycra running gear makes Halloween a bit more scary. Congrats on the run, though.
...
The others are very suitable for EDC, but Elle's gift is very nice, GT.

Wish you hadn't mentioned Ron in Lycra running gear, Stuart; I think my kid would say, "TMI!":rolleyes::p
Thanks for the Spanish stag SBJr compliment, Stuart; I'll pass it along to my daughter. :)

I’m a sucker for candle tip bolsters, here’s my 4 line Camillus Equal End Pen....

...
Super thin profile and so pocket friendly. A little thicker than a silver dollar.

...
It’s a well made piece that takes. Wicked sharp edge and carries like a dream in your pocket.
Small enough to be unobtrusive but still big enough to accomplish most day ti day cutting tasks.
...
...@T. Erdelyi Nice Camillus equal end! I love tip bolsters myself and have a similar one. It’s not an equal end but a sleeveboard instead that also has tip bolsters. It has the curved/arched tang stamp which I think makes it an older cousin to your equal end. Here’s a pic of it.

...
Those are a couple of breathtaking Camilluses, Ted & Nick!:thumbsup::cool::cool:

...Hope everyone had a good weekend :) Starting my week off with these two

Ashley's Choice and Abbeydale Jack are a preemptive stag strike on the new week, Jack!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

...Now which one for today?;)

wciWWSp.jpg
My choices would be 1) Winchester BB pen and 2) Aitor Castor!:cool::thumbsup:

It's the smaller one. I never remember if the rancher is bigger because he has more money or the cowboy is bigger because he does more work.
I like the solid feel, the black-and-silver looks, and the most blade in the least handle.
Thanks for the info, Jer. :) (Including your effective mnemonics! :D)

That's a dynamite dark duo, Jeff! Really like the swayback handle and the blade combo on the KaBar!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you. :D I gots pluck, alright! :p
I'm carrying it today, along with a little Esquire:

Wow! Impressive rosewood rehandle on the jack in that desirable pair!!:thumbsup::cool:

Rondeau, the ironwood 77 Barlow had a great run, staying in my pocket from mid-April until early last week....

But now, for the last week, it's been the canvas micarta Shuffler in my pocket. ...

When I grow up, I want to get a BB Winchester sowbelly stockman just like yours, Stuart!! That is an unforgettable knife!!:thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

...
Someone left it in an old barn by an old case of salt licks ! Thank you !!
...
Is that a "true fact", Gev? Interesting history.:cool::thumbsup:
I haven't thought about blocks of salt for the cows to lick in ages. My 2 younger brothers liked chipping off little flakes to lick, but I didn't care much for the taste.

I spent some spare time over the past couple of weeks putting together a new rotation schedule, since my old one "ran out" last Sunday. My new one started Monday and will run for 45 weeks. Because I have so many canoes, I've split them into TWO categories: each week I'll be carrying a "plain" (or "regular") canoe AND a "fancy" (or "special") canoe.
My Plain Canoe of Week 1 is a Rough Rider Painted Desert acrylic model:

My Fancy Canoe of the Week is my 1975 Case redbone single-spring canoe:

Stockman of the Week is a Buck 303 Cadet (thanks, Clay):

I know I've posted similar pics before, but I ain't found anything that's better at removing old caulking than a clip blade on a stockman.
anc2t2.jpg

Used this one as a carpet knife today, cutting out old carpet is hard on an edge, while no longer super sharp its still cutting carpet well. This carpet has quite a bit of sand embedded. This one keeps surprising me of its toughness. I did find the squared edges of the covers and rear bolster uncomfortable under hard use. So I rounded them, much better now.

Nice... I was feeling the OT vibe too

Mine had a comparatively easy day though, cutting stuff up for a picnic lunch for the kids was about as tough as it got...

Tip of the hat to a guy working with his hands with working man’s knives.

Muh brutha from anotha mutha.

I'm stumbling around trying to get packed for a 7:00 am flight to South dakota for some pheasant chasin'. I won't be posting, as cell phone coverage is spotty where we stay. See y'all next week.

:(

You have been showing some spectacular sleeveboards, Jack. Thanks for sharing them.

...

Thank you, Jack.

The Wright was with me yesterday, Jack, but the liquorice is just a sweet memory now. Thanks. Yo're packing a tasty looking pair today.

Thanks for the kind words my friend :)

Thanks Jack, right back at you :). I especially like the early fall feel to the lambsfoot picture.

I’ve got these two with me today on a very rare weekday off work.

Thanks Tom, that pic was just taken in my garden, hard to keep the lawn cleared at this time of year :) Another fine there :)

My buddy, LTC (ret.) Gerry, likes the Army trapper. You can tell by the big smile. ;)

LOL! :D Hope you had a great hike Dean :)

I know exactly what you mean GT, it has flown for me too  Thank you very much for the compliments, that's a great line-up there pal

Have a safe flight and a great hunt Stuart!

+1

Taken me 2 hours to make 2 posts! No wonder I don't know where the time goes! Hope everyone has had a good week, the weekend is nearly here :) Two for Black Friday
