What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Did you ever get a knife that you just couldn’t seem to connect with and you can’t get rid of it because it was gift from your son? So you decide drop it in your pocket and give it another chance. And lo and behold, it just grabs you! And you think, oh yeah, nice knife! Well, that’s today’s carry.

Noteworthy lambsfoot, Mike! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: What's the wood on the handle? Some kind of pale ebony??

Really like that Imperial serpentine jack! :cool::cool::thumbsup: I have one similar to it that I'm carrying as a "free choice" knife this week:

Bone stag teardrop today.

That 2-blade barehead bonestag model is very distinctive, Dean! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Today "again", Case mini trapper stag...

The mini trapper is both stylish and substantial, Senhor Pinto! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

A little nostalgic today, grabbed this 1971 red bone equal end #62055 Cigar Jack. Rock SOLID blades, pinned shield and the famed Case red bone:cool:

Superb cigar jack, Paul! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: I turned 20 the year that knife was made, but I've aged a lot more than your knife has since then! :eek:;)

...
Smooth white bone or smooth ivory bone is not a common cover material in my collection. Now that there are two, I figured I would pair them together today.

That pair, at first just ghostly, turned a whiter shade of pale, Dylan! :thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

That looks like an old friend, Vince! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Thanks Gary and GREAT free choice carries:cool::thumbsup:
Thanks, Paul. :)

... I bought it from a local place, so I got to handle it before I bought it. Of those I looked at I picked the one with the deepest green. They also had the canoe and the stockman in this series. Fit'n'Finish is really good overall.
Glad you have places where you can actually see the knife you're buying, David. :thumbsup::cool::) Your deep green is great, but I don't think I'd like a pale green version of the Buck canoe! :eek:

Thanks Gary. :) I'm fairly certain it's pre KSF, although that still puts it as Queen or GEC?
Thanks, Dwight. :)

... They make a pretty nice pair.
...
Thank you, GT. :)
Those black Bökers indeed do make a dashing dark duo! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Real nice pair yourself, I really need to think about picking up a copperlock.
Thanks, H&S. :) If someone asked me if I was a fan of single blades, of clip blades, of lockbacks, I'd say No, No, and No, yet I like that copper lock a LOT! :rolleyes::D:confused:

Beautiful choices today GT! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Chestnut bone stockman today.
Thanks, Spaten, and congrats on the chestnut stockman. :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: I sure wish that (and the small Texas jack) was available with round bolsters. :rolleyes:

...Yep, GT, that's the one.

Thanks, Stuart. :)

Today we woke up to tornado warnings and severe storms moving through our area! :( Thankful for no damage here at home. :) ...
Glad you came through the storms with no damage, Ron! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup: Striking dark/light pairing you've posted! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

That's a champ, Dave! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: I have one in smooth white bone that I someday want to use for trying out a DIY scrimshaw kit. ;)

Brantford jack today. Accompanying my Weck shadow pen of course.
Thanks for your comments, Nick. :) That Brantford has delectable bone! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: Is the secondary blade a small clip??

It's good to have this Yankee Jack back after selling it off to fund a knife I ended up not liking as well. The lighter ebony looks nice next to the juniper wood of the Perceval. Both have lots of character, like El Greco.
Congrats on getting the knife back, Joshua; lovely duo! ;):cool: As I scrolled through the thread, I saw the "El Greco" at the top of your post and expected to see a different knife as I revealed the entire pic! :) Here's my view of Toledo (that I probably posted before):

Brown for sure, and so much more! ;):thumbsup::cool: Captivating couple of knives, Alan! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Aitor?? Very cool knife! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Today with one of the knives that most days walks in my pocket...;):thumbsup:

Very prestigious Barlow, Senhor Pinto! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

... a Schrade equal end jack from 1946-1973 and a PAL Blade Co. EO from 1940-1945 (after they has purchased Remington's cutlery equipment and remaining stock of parts).

I vote in favor of this pair, Stuart! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: That PAL could be my buddy anytime! ;)

Thanks for the kind words pal, those two are exceptional :) :thumbsup:

Thanks, Jack. :) Excellent pair in your possession for the day! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Couple of capable, capital knives, David! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: (Stick your green Buck under there and you've got yourself a cutlery traffic signal. ;))

A little French ivory today.

Classic ebony/ivory pairing, Tom! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Your SW is a Winner, Steve! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

...
That knife brought me no luck at all. That's why it's in my current GAW :mad:
...
Wow, John, you don't mess around! :eek:;) The phrase I bolded reminds me of a weekly song on the old "Hee Haw" show on TV:

Fancy Canoe of the Week is a Fight'n Rooster 4-blade:

Bailed non-SAK of the Week is an Imperial BSA scout (thanks, Paul):

Thanks Gary and yes, it’s a little clip but a serious nail breaker though. I left it blunt to use as a scraper, poker etc., not for cutting because it’s a little too sketchy to have a sharp blade that likes to disobey and bite. And oh, your Fight’n Rooster is purdy!!
