What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Totin' a Smith & Wesson lockback hunter on a very windy (gusts to 45 mph) and cold day (23° wind chill). It is supposed to be 68° by Sunday!!

Beautiful lockback, has that impeccable mirror polish. My Dad has a fixed 4" drop point from this same era, I think early 80's? Fit and finish second to none, imo. Did S&W make these in house back then?

Good stuff! It's kinda nice to go beyond a comfort zone and purchase something completely different from the norm. :thumbsup::D
I agree. There is so much incredible cutlery in Europe and the knife makers I've spoken with have been kind, helpful and gentlemen in every way. Looking forward to many more.

Free Choice Knife this week is a Case Carhartt mini trapper with single Wharncliffe blade that JohnDF JohnDF generously sent my way. He mailed it from CA last week Monday and it arrived at my workplace mailroom 2 days later! But because of holiday schedules, it didn't get to my mailbox until this week Monday. Splendid knife; much appreciated, John!

Nice stag on that Colt, Gary!

I feel sort of like the Ghost of Christmas Past, since most of what I'm quoting here was posted on Monday! :rolleyes:

These two for me today.

Great looking knives.
A few months ago, I just wanted a nice knife a little bigger than what I used to carry (small slipjoints & lockbacks under 3"), and now I want all kinds of knives from all over the world!
My experience mirrors yours, Vince. I'll take one of everything, please! :rolleyes:;)

Today, giving the Case some air time...with Henry oversight!

The stag stockman, and Henry, both look to be in fine form! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

That stag coke bottle is an absolute showpiece, Dwight; "it's the real thing"! ;):cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Great pic of this knife that's caught your fancy, Nick! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Congrats on that rotten banana bone 85, Leslie; it's a mellow yellow! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
"Electrical banana is gonna be a sudden craze.
Electrical banana is bound to be the very next phase." :p

I've really enjoyed all the banana jokes jacks too!
Me, too! :D:thumbsup::D

A little upscale from Case today:

That's a fancy jack, @eisman! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

The SAK Secretary is an always appreciated gift to both knife knuts and the uninitiated.
Thanks, Alan; it sure is a thin folder! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

A cold drizzle met me this morning, so outside carry and photos were dubious. I did get out enough to gather some more Honey Mushrooms from my front yard as I may have mentioned previously. I made them into a rustic forestière mushroom soup (chicken stock, thyme, and rosemary work wonders). I added a strip of the Black Pepper Crusted bacon that we bought from our daughter-in-law at the farmers market and a Founders Brewing Porter.
...
My Wright lambsfoot (thanks Jack Black Jack Black ) was a bit shy, despite having helped in the harvest, so I had to shoot another pic. Silly knife!
