Funny quoteI think, if I buckle down and get those Christmas cards done today, and into the mail, they will get there in time.
I’ve decided that one of these days, when I get around to it, I’m going to stop procrastinating.View attachment 1039334Cheerful yellow delrin for me today.

Hi, The maker is Hiroaki Ohta, a Japanese craftsman. If I remember correctly he calls this particular model his Small Camper. A web search will give you all manner of hits for him. I'll send you his email address.
I've had this little knife for many years, probably 7 or more. A few months ago the backspring broke. I contacted Hiro and sent him the knife (to Japan). He had it back to me in 17 days, as good as new, no charge. I, and many others who frequent these forums, hold him in high regard.
Here's the mark side of that knife, along with another one of his,

Thanks, Jeff.Holub was an electrical supply house in Sycamore, Illinois ~ about a 45 minute shot straight south of me. It's most likely that Gary's TL-27 (civilian version of the 29) was made by Camillus.
And ditto on his canoes!

Your ebony 14 is turning into the Forrest Gump of knives, showing up in all kinds of unexpected settings!
More quality Queens, and more intriguing info!!I'm totin' a couple of "different" knives for a freaky Friday carry: Queen #2 serpentine jack and a Queen #36 lockback (which is one of the few lockbacks that Queen made, as well as one of the few bareheads and high carbon steel (1095?) bladed knives they made - it wasn't in their catalog for long). Both are from 1961-1971 and have Delrin Winterbottom covers. (See edits below) Queen was able to make Delrin look pretty good. When fertilizer companies started bidding the price of bone up and government embargoes stopped importation of bone in the late 1950s, Queen had Rogers NMfg. Co. make molds of the real Winterbotttom bone for future conversion to synthetic covers. Queen converted to Delrin in the late 1960s, I understand.

EDIT: After further handling of these knives following this post, I believe that the covers are actually real bone, and not Delrin. I'll leave the Delrin info intact, but wanted to make this correction. Apologies to Delrin fans.

Good story and good deed, Jeff! This is why I should always carry a utility knife.
Some friends from church, with two little boys from Nigeria just bought their first house. Money’s tight, so Mrs. Santa Fleschwund put together a big sack of toys for Christmas presents.
I went to deliver them to find their water heater was out, they had no tools, and no idea of what to do.
Well, many years ago, I hauled propane and was certified in gas appliances.
With the help of this nearly 70 year old Pal TL29, I fixed it. Getting up off the floor was the hardest part.
Like 99% of these service calls, the problem was rust particles and soot on the thermocouple and in the burner. Plus, their flux capacitor was acting up, and the flam shooter needed calibration, of course.
Gratuitous shot of the heroic old veteran called back into service...View attachment 1037777Love my TL29s!
That knife is a palpitation producer, Paul!!Enjoying all the Northfield 85's that have been posted so I grabbed mine from 2016
