Haven't done an appreciation post here for more than 72 hours, and the pages that have been generated in this thread in that time is more numerous than the stars in the heavens!!

But an infinite journey begins with a single step, so I'll give it a go.

Captivating canoe, GT.

...
Thank you GT. The S-W canoe is very very nice.

Thanks, Stuart & Dwight.

And speaking of very nice (and beyond), Dwight, that Kissing Cranes stag canoe is irresistible (and suddenly makes the GEC #16s look not nearly as unusual as I always thought they looked

)!!

... I'm going against the wooden Wednesday routine, too.
r8shell
, you're SUCH an iconoclast, posting stag and ivory on a stick on WEDNESDAY!

No time for new pictures, but I'm toting these today (minus the boys' knife):

Holy Toledo, Joshua, that's a big broad bold blade on your El Greco!!

Nice posts, folks!
Needed a little color on this grey winter's day.
Cramer Lanny's Clip Jr.
...
Gary, your Cramer LC not only brings the color, it brings the HEAT!!

Looking at that reminds me of a line in your old Air Force song:
We live in fame, or go down in flame That fiery stag has me going down in flames for sure!
On this Wednesday, I'm totin' this pair of wooden workers (with a tip 'o the cap to
Jack Black
).
- Stuart
Love that "workers' rectangle" of wood and steel, Stuart!

Dignified and dapper ebony Conducter, Mike!

Pen or whittler?
I got to see Hunter Pence, Jose Altuve, George Springer, etc.
That's some notable MLB name-dropping, Vince - very cool!!

...
Thank you, GT, for the kind words. In terms of my recent disappointments, it is water under the bridge for the most part. I received a couple of GECs from their recent run that did not measure up to what I have come to expect from them in regards to their good quality. I also got a small fixed blade that didn't turn out to be quite what I had hoped for. Things like this happen and it all serves to keep one well grounded so I am moving on and am optimistic about the next knife that will be inbound.
...
I went with a dark duo today.
...
Thanks for the info about recent knife disappoinments, Dylan, and thanks for your exemplary attitude about them!

Your dark duo definitely does NOT disappoint!

Sporting this little gem of Lyle's today. It really is a terrific knife.
Bounding to the other end of the dark/light continuum, looks like you took this pic on a bridge over troubled water, Dylan!

...

Honestly , I will carry something else tomorrow . I do have a couple other decent ones to choose from . Does anyone have any suggestions ???

Harry
Harry, I admire the folks who exhibit their commitment to certain knives by carrying them frequently or even exclusively.

It makes my knifely promiscuity seem quite fickle sometimes.

Stuart gives very articulate advice below!

(And that TEW lambsfoot is welcome among the Guardians morning, noon, and night everyday!

)
Harry, I defer to you, but the thread is all about "what are you totin' today". No traditional knife that is carried with pride is unworthy of posting and, if it is a favorite with repetitive carries, so be it. Several Porch members work with the same knives daily. I'd just as soon see those as the couple that I happen to pick up and poke in my pocket for the day. In a true tool view, they are even more worthy. Carry and show some different ones, if you want, but I'm not near tired of your daily totin' choices.

Hear! Hear!

I decided to hold off on taking my new forum knife out with me today in order to do Wooden Wednesday.
-African Blackwood-
You take fab fotos, Mr. Braden!!!

That little coke bottle looks fantastic in the return of the cherry tree!!

Started off with these two...
Swapping over to this one when I go out this evening

...
Swapping incredible ivory and ebony for stag does NOT make Jack a dull boy, by any s t r e t c h of the imagination!

Looks like tough fishing.
Not only are you a knife knut and an SF nerd, John, but I'm getting the idea that you're quite the fishing fiend, too!!

Congrats on getting your BF 2018 knife, FBC!

That is an incredible pic, IMHO; nominee for the cover of the BF Annual Knives Photo Calendar!!

I'm wearing pockety pants today, so I'm totin' some larger companions: a Queen #31 large (4") congress and a Queen #58 balloon jack (3.5"), both from 1958-1960.
...
- Stuart
Pair of Queens wins again, Stuart!

5K Qs
~
Thank you for your always kind and entertaining comments, Gary!
Thanks, and right back at you, Jeff, but you actually use your knives for something besides food prep!!

...
Lol Gary!
5K Qs
- I “won” Santa in greed gift exchange. He’s about 20” tall and the face is almost creepy it’s so real. For the record, he did not come with the tractor green 26.
...
I was STILL messed up in size judgments, thinking that sleeveboard was a 79, not one of your "trademark" 26s!

Thanks, Gary! Great Canoes this week. I don't think I have ever seen a Holub electrician before.
...
You are totin' pair of resplendent Rough Riders this week, Gary!

Thanks, Dean.

I went overboard with canoes this week, with my "plain" and "fancy" and a watch pocket canittler and my America's Trades free choice canoe!

I do like them though.
Terrific road trio, Dean, with green/white/blue from GEC/Buck/Case!

these two today and all week. Otnat, and a small Shadley wharnie made with a light pull for me by the amazing and super nice Gene Shadley. both excellent knives. apologies for misplaced focus in pic.

W

W! Two sensational knives!

I assume the handles of the Shadley are acrylic tortoise shell, but they remind me of the fiery pit where Gandalf fought the Balrog!!

Yes, Gary, otherwise known as Mother of Bowling Ball.

And it's still in my pocket today.
MOBB - that's a new one for me, Jeff!
