What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Snowing and single digits outside so I'm trying to think tropical thoughts. :D

I'm totin' two today as I go out to the wood pile to feed two fireplaces. Neither they nor I are going very far today. I was born in Kentucky (Ft. Campbell) just before my father shipped off to fight in Korea and I inherited these knives from my stepfather (who also served in Korea), so I have a special attachment to them.

Man those are cool!

Very nice, Jack, love that AC! Very cool little fixed blade!:thumbsup:

Thanks a lot Dennis

I'll be carrying my usual for the weekend...

Looking sharp John :)

Always enjoy that Wee Staggie, and love that small fixed blade. Reminds me of a whaler! Is that olive wood?

Thanks Vince, yes olive wood, I missed out on the stag model, it's a Jasper Voxnaes-designed 'Gnome' for boker Plus, I find it quite useful

I woke up and heard the news, announcing one of my favorite days: National Pizza Day. Cheers.

I'm going to have to put that in my diary for next year! :) Pancake Day here on February 14th, and I'm excited already :D

These two today! Man this ironwood is out of this world View attachment 1070048

Wonderful Taylor :)

Wow, very cool selection, Dwight! The stag is awsome
Thank you Dennis. :)

I’m a bit behind here. I carried the Russell Barlow at work all week
Love the colors on this sweet barlow.

Two of the prettiest of these soddies I've ever seen Stuart.

might need to use a different background for the Bolus going forward,
My goodness that is some sweet ram Bolus-sephus...

Still catching up with this thread, almost got lost in a forest of ironwood on the way. There are some very nice knives being toted.

That's a fine old knife in a fantastic picture. I love the tip bolsters and wasn't a bit surprised that @kai76 was lurking in the shadows ready to pounce on it.

Breathtaking Winchester Stuart.

That Winchester scout you’re camping out with today is awesome. Besides the stains and spots on it(which makes it even better IMO), it looks brand new!

That’s a beautiful ole Winchester Stuart! I look forward to taking an up close look someday!

Outstanding scout. The bone in that mark side cover is quite amazing.

Thanks, guys.

Lovely Lloyd Lannys.

Does anyone have any ideas to make this thing more user friendly?

It's so good looking, I'd be happy just to carry it around fully opened all the time.

Pen knife for me too today.

Wonderful Weck, Nick. I'm glad to see you rebounding from your loss to @cigarrodog .

Interestingly - I leave a sturdy modern folder in the kitchen that I regularly use for such duties, but the thin and sharp blades on the Case did a MUCH better job of it. The thicker blades on the modern folder tend to bind up a bit in the cardboard.

That's a fine testimonial for good traditional knives. Well said (and I am unanimous in that opinion).

Not that I chase patina for patinas sake, but there's lots of patina potential in a loaded cheese steak:D

Oh, great, now I'm hungry! That is a very handsome Camillus, David.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend :)

Great to see that staggering AC again, Jack, as well as the mouse squeak of a fixed blade.

That picture always makes me happy.

Wowser, Dwight!!

A very fine looking knife, Alan, beautifully portrayed.

Imperial US Navy Utility

"Imperial . . utility" seems like an oxymoron, Steve, but there is nothing confusing about that handsome old sailor.

D Duckdog very nice Stuart, the stag is incredible
