What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I'm camping out in front of our fireplace with this old Winchester today. It's getting too cold to tote too far this late afternoon when I meet with my buddies to bend elbows.

Outstanding scout. The bone in that mark side cover is quite amazing.

Thanks Dylan, I'm thoroughly enjoying it
Thank you, fellas.

Dennis, it certainly is a favorite cup of mine. I am usually fond of large heavy mugs but I find that during the course of my work, the coffee cools too much before I can drink it fully. The small mug facilitates drinking it before it gets cold. In most cases...

Beautiful stag on that one, Alan!

A superbly matched pair, Tom!

Wow, that is one heck of an assortment. Can't go wrong with any of them.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, Harry. I am pleased that the crisis was averted though. A very fine work horse to accompany you throughout it all!

Such a terrific old lambsfoot, Rob.

Exquisite picture, Dwight! You've staged it wonderfully.

An excellent picture, Gev, of an equally exceptional knife!

This S&M. 3.5” is a nice size. I’d carry this one a lot except the secondaries are terrible pulls. Like a 9.5 on a 10 scale. I nearly can’t even open the Spey and I don’t have soft nails. I’ve tried the hot water and soap flush and it actually got worse! A little oil gets it back to not good. And I’m not picky about knives being a little on the harder side to open! Does anyone have any ideas to make this thing more user friendly?

Carried this one today. Got to use it to open up the bi-weekly cat food shipment box, open the individual cases inside, and cut down the box for the recycle bin:

Interestingly - I leave a sturdy modern folder in the kitchen that I regularly use for such duties, but the thin and sharp blades on the Case did a MUCH better job of it. The thicker blades on the modern folder tend to bind up a bit in the cardboard.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing when I took this photo!:D

Since mail call today, I switched the Boker out for a new piece of ironwood:

Ironwood lambsfoot from A. Wright & Son, Sheffield. Will be toting this a lot in the foreseeable future.

Nice to see all the Lambsfoot knives :)
