What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Yesterday was the debut of my new edc 82 and I put it straight into my pocket without doing anything to it. Last night I had time to get it to my liking. I sanded and polished the bolsters and shield as I do not like the satin look. I also polished the edges of the clip and wharncliffe blades while leaving the drop point coarse (but still shaving) for rougher work. I also knocked some of the sharpness off the corners of the micarta. The only thing that could be better is if it were in ebony, but that's just for aesthetics. This has shaped up to be an all time great. I'm looking forward to many years of carrying this fantastic knife.

Stag lambsfoot from A. Wright & Son, Sheffield.

Today is Texas Independence Day. On this day, March 2, 1836, Texas declared independence from Mexico in Washington-on-the-Brazos. The Alamo was under siege at the time, and fell to a vastly superior (in numbers) force on March 6. However, Sam Houston defeated a larger Mexican force on April 21 (San Jacinto Day) to win independence. The war lasted less than a year, beginning October 2, 1835 in Gonzales, which was the "Lexington" of the War for Texas Independence. The Mexican force tried to retrieve a cannon from the colonists, and were resisted successfully. That's where the "COME AND TAKE IT" flag came from.

Thanks, Stuart. :) Kingston seems to have been quite a short-lived company, according to what I've been able to find so far.

Thanks, Ron and Stuart. :)

True enough, John. :) I just wish I had the foresight to set up my rotation so a Christmas knife show up around Christmas, as well as possibly other times through the year!:rolleyes: I guess that's something I can rectify with my "free choice" carries each week.

Living the high life, Stuart, toting your Sunday Best on Saturday night!:cool::thumbsup: That's a real showpiece!
