What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Wow- a lot of fine knives, and well-done photography already this morning. My companions today are a Wenger Canyon, and an elk stag jack I made out of a TL-29. Nothing fancy, like me.
@Duckdog, Stuart, seeing your slimline trapper literally had me taking several steps toward the royal armory to re-fit my choices! I’m overdue on totin some trappers.View attachment 1087915

Nice knife on a cool rock!

A 'lowly' but exceptionally nicely finished RR Small Cotton Sampler for me today. Remarkable finish on this knife, thick slabs make it very agreeable.

I got one of these Small Cottons recently. The least money I've ever spent for a knife. $14.
Not a bad product.
After all the discussions of Wood vs Jigged Bone , I thought today was a day to get back to reality of what I really prefer . This last month or two has been very un-ordinary and I have not been able to keep up with THE CAR ON THE ICE ON THE LAKE 2019 .This time in 2017 and 2018 it was IN THE LAKE . Check the Date Stamp :

I prefer to carry Stag when ever possible . 73 & 43

Harry
Nice stag there!
They should put a dummy/mannequin in the driver seat of that car :)
The ebony jack fits my watch pocket. The olive wood Maserin Hunter goes in the back pocket, this one opens with ease one handed and locks solidly. Its action is so smooth I find myself opening and closing it often just for fun. A very good knife for the money.View attachment 1087693

Maserin makes great knives

I know that resurrecting old threads is frowned upon here, but how do you feel about quoting "necro posts" from a current thread? I think I had these posts multi quoted last Sunday night, but never made time to comment on them until today. I wonder if the original posters even remember these posts any more. :(

I admire a man that sticks to a plan, even when it would be easy to just throw it back into the rotation.
Thanks, John. :) I like the way you put it - "sticks to a plan" - instead of the way my wife often puts it - "stubbornness".

Cute canoes, Gary. I like the etching on the Case.:thumbsup:
Thanks, Dean, I always appreciate your support. :)

Sometimes one can get carried away with a theme:rolleyes:
I like it, David!:thumbsup::cool: For some reason, I like Staglon almost as much as most real stag (and better than some real stag).

New fixed blade arrived today, Lionsteel M1. I think I am really going to like it; I also think I really don’t like the lanyard bead, that is going to be removed soon (just not for me on a pocketable fixed blade). Pictured with the Pioneer X that goes nearly everywhere I do :).
Notable pair, Tom; congrats on the Lionsteel fixed blade!:thumbsup::cool: Do you also have a Farmer in that same shade of blue? I think I may have misidentified your Pioneer X as a blue Farmer more than once!

Toting some ironwood on this Texas Independence Day (March 2):
Fantastic ironwood lambsfoot, Vince, and belated Happy TX Independence Day!:cool::thumbsup: Thanks also for the story of "Come and take it" in a related post with your magical AC; I've always wondered about that phrasing in your sig.:thumbsup:

Fightin something~ very heavy cold or flu, such that I had little interest in anything. Not only did I not even log on here, but I never even picked up a guitar!o_O
Carried this pair yesterday, keepin on with them today, since I have the black Friday/ Stag Saturday requirements covered.View attachment 1083370
Church carry. All set up and sound checked, fairly fresh strings on the guitar, begin in 11 minutes. Plenty of time to snap and post a pic to my porch friends!View attachment 1084080
Excellent Fri/Sat pair, Jeff!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Glad to see that you felt well enough Sunday to play at church!:)

I haven't carried this one in a while so it's getting some pocket time today !

Your stag lambsfoot is exceptional, Steve!:cool::thumbsup:

My Dad used a straight razor most of his life. I tried it out once when I started shaving, never again! electric from that day on.:p
I'm with you, Dave, although I don't think I've EVER shaved with anything other than electric. (But I can easily go a week without shaving and almost no one would notice!:p)

...
Thanks pal, fine bunch of knives there :)
...
Been out hiking with these three today :) Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend
Thanks, Jack. :)
You certainly had a tremendous trekking trio last weekend!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

Distinctive brace of buckhorn beauties, Dean!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I think I will start out this week with an extraordinary folding knife from Albacete, Spain:

With a polished deer stag antler point, and skillfully decorated by @ArtesaniaHerreros. And talk about sharp! Like a razor.
Have a great Sunday, everyone.
What a noteworthy and noble navaja, Vince; quintessentially Spanish!:thumbsup::cool:

Dynamic duo!:cool::thumbsup: I've had one of those Victorinox "floral knives" (or whatever they're called") on my wish list for quite a while, but somehow neglected to order one yet.

Captivating couple of knives, Dean!:cool::thumbsup: Always a special treat to see that particular Schrade Barlow!

Be still, my beating heart! Dwight, that is a sensational stockman with joy-inducing jigging!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Gt what are the handles of this barlow made of?
...
Dwight, my wood ID skills are VERY poor, but Google is my friend, and convinced me that the Sarge BSA Barlow has maple burl handles.

Fine selection GT, that RR 2-blade Melon Tester is interesting

Thanks, Jack; the serrated blade was a big draw for me.
Great pics of your AC and elk horn BF Buck!:cool::cool:

Two stunning pics Dwight

Excellent photo Vince

Thanks, guys. That's a bodacious pair, Jack!

Thanks pal :)

I missed Old Friends Friday, as I was helping a friend retrieve his truck today. We helped with a charity wild game dinner last weekend (we fed 300+ folks with wild hog, deer, rabbit, quail, catfish, frog legs, and lots of side dishes and pies/cakes, in a church that was established in 1772). His truck broke down at our hunting place, which is near the church, and he left it there for a hunting buddy/car shop owner to fix. Two hour trip down, three and a half hour trip back (rush hour). It was snowing, but i got a chance to run my new dog at the farm, check out the property/house, pick up two quarts of freshly shucked oysters, and chat with Half/Stop Half/Stop by phone on the ride back. All in all, a great day!

I'll show the "old friends: that I intended to carry today later this week. I carried this new favorite for a relatively light duty day.

I meant to just carry my Ashley's Choice Lambsfoot today...
