What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I've been carrying my Case seahorse whittler the last few days, trying to decide if it makes a good everyday carry knife. With the short but massive Wharncliffe combined with the small pen and coping blades, I'm not sure it's all that versatile. (Although certainly well designed for the intended task.) Thoughts, anyone?

I've always liked that pattern but as you found out, that main blade is one thick rascal and for my uses too thick, BUT, I keep buying them over and over and over because they look so great ;)
I seemed to always use the two smaller blades for any real cutting need.

Looks versatile enough for me. I'd carry that in my rotation.

I think it would be fine, the only real hindrance would be the lack of a longer blade with belly but only sometimes. The two narrow short blades, one with belly and one straight, will handle the vast majority of things you'd need a pocket knife for. Small blades can do big jobs easier than a large blade can do small jobs.

Wow- a lot of fine knives, and well-done photography already this morning. My companions today are a Wenger Canyon, and an elk stag jack I made out of a TL-29. Nothing fancy, like me.
D Duckdog , Stuart, seeing your slimline trapper literally had me taking several steps toward the royal armory to re-fit my choices! I’m overdue on totin some trappers.View attachment 1087915

Thanks, Jeff, and kudos on that elk clad jack.

That sounds like a good day's work Stuart, well done :) A treat to see that lovely Case too :)

I meant to just carry my Ashley's Choice Lambsfoot today...

But this one stowed away too

Thanks, Jack, and it was a fine day (and meal) for a good cause. Both of those lambies look lovely.

Two of my favorites.

Tremendous tanned twosome, Alan.

Stag Saturday with Wright Lambsfoot...;)

That is a handsome knife, José.

Stagurday carry

Vey interesting, Davis. And lovely.

Nice, Dean.

2019 Guardians Lambsfoot and a Lick Creek Barlow for me today

Have a great Sunday! These two for me today! :)

Fine pairings by both of you gentlemen. Great color combinations.

It's about TYNE, Dwight. A gorgeous on at that.

After eyeing these for years, I finally ordered myself a Woodswalker. It's not exactly a big, bushcrafty blade, but I think it'll be up to the task of whittling sticks for hot dogs and marshmallows on a camping trip planned for later in the month.

Today I'm totin' a trapper that I just put new slabs on.

Classy Case (and nice job).

This old Utica today

Very nice pair Stuart !

Thanks, Steve, and that's a fine old Utica and Tough Duck.

Yesterday, I went on the hunt for a barehead jack with good bone covers. I was pleasantly surprised to find this one: Case XX 62024 1/2 (1958-1964).

I'm pleased that you shared it, dean. It's a true beauty.

I've always thought this and my 73 stag GEC's two finest knives. But until I have no others, I will find It hard to use this one.

Send it to me, Alan. I'll put it to use and report back regularly. It is pretty nice.

Thank you my friend :)

Eased into Monday with nothing more than a lunch with some buddies on the schedule. I toted this Needham jack for a conversation starter:

Just the angle Gary. I'm a big bloke but not that big. :)

Haha, I figured it was that but sure makes it almost look like you are holding a peanut and not that large folder :)

Today the Robert Klaas rides in the watchpocket while my Lionsteel Shuffler is looking pretty in it's new sheath;

That’s been my problem with whittler patterns, even the much more reasonable case 6383 got eventually replaced in the pocket due to the excessive thickness of the main blade ( and the handle/blade ratio).
I’m carrying today just to reaffirm my views ;)
