Hmm, well I cant say which is sharper. However after cutting a wire tie with the TC I did have to sharpen it so it's been sharpened well at 3000 grit and then strop. As for the no. 65, it is one of my sharpest planes and I often use it as my chamfer plane, as I have with this wall shelf project.

Cheers, friend, I believe you are an NC native as well?
Those old Stanley planes are something. I miss that kind of woodworking. Almost everything I do now is repair work on mobile homes. My Dad has a well equipped woodshop but he's in Virginia. I'm not native to NC, though I've lived here for almost 15 years. Don't feel like its been that long. I'm originally from Virginia, about 45 minutes from Bristol TN/VA.

Finally back from a whirlwind of a road trip, 4500 miles total. It was too difficult to try and keep up with this thread so I bagged it until I got home today. Got to see my 101 year old Grandad for a little bit the other day and spent a couple of days with Dad. Figured I’d give this green bone Parker Frost some pocket time on St Patrick’s day...

I've been carrying this Roundhead the last couple days. I've always liked Barlows & I've come to like this concept with modern materials & the M390 steel. I don't know why it hasn't gotten much carry time. The thought occurred to me that maybe I had too many nice knives, but............ Naaahhhhh! That ain't it.
