What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Sorry for falling hopelessly behind with this thread :(

I started out with this one :)

Now added one of the two US Lambsfoot knives I received from Charlie this afternoon :)

Superb taste, CASE Whittler always welcome in anybody's pocket. Is that Rolex from the 70s? It's very elegant indeed:cool:

Thanks, Will
That is the first time I’ve shown off my Rolex DateJust. It is an 1984, but that model does look pretty much the same as the ones from the 1960’s and 70’s.

It's real appealing!:thumbsup::cool: (And it's still available all over the place! ;))

Gorgeous knife there, kind of puts my new slimline trapper to shame.
Congrats on the slimline trapper (delrin?), and absolutely nothing to be ashamed of!:thumbsup::thumbsup: What size and maker for your adjustable wrench? I recently picked up a 4" Tekton that I think I'll be very happy to carry.

I agree... Hard to beat a Sodbuster Jr.
It's cheap, attractive, durable, easily replaced, and infinitely handy.
Yeah, and I still don't own a Case SBJr with synthetic handles - that should be my kind of knife! On my list for the Labor Day buying spree. ;)

Wow! I thought Mr. Magoo was GREAT! Rocky and Bullwinkle I found kind of creepy, and I HATED Mickey Mouse. Mighty Mouse was a lot more manly. And Speedy Gonzalez, he was great! Favorites were Looney Toons, Pink Panther, Johnny Quest, and the old Popeye (1940s and 1950s).

Thanks, Gary. It's a little thrilling to hold! I almost want to go to a cantina and start a fight! [Just kidding, guys! ;) ]
I wouldn't take it into a cantina looking for trouble, but I might go to one of my wife's quilting workshops and see if anyone wants to step outside!

Strange about the cartoons. Rocky and Bullwinkle may have been my favorite (including Mr. Peabody, Fractured Fairy Tales, etc.). Like you, I didn't care much for Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck, although I did like some of the "dramas" on Mickey Mouse Club (Corky and White Shadow, Spin & Marty are a couple I remember), but watched Mighty Mouse and Underdog most Saturdays. Speedy G and Road Runner were both great, as were Bugs B and Tweety Bird. I liked Quick Draw McGraw and Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, Flintstones, a lot of those Hanna Barbera evening shows. Remember Tom Terrific from Captain Kangaroo? Tell me what knife you think each character would carry! :D

...
Your knife that is the progeny of a Canoe and a Whittler is beguiling, Gary.
Thanks, Dean; I really like those little canittlers. :)

Thanks GT! Mine is a NYK.
...
Thanks for the toothpick ID, Nick. Cool congress!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you GT for the nice words. Love the Opinel. Love, Love Sabre Daddy Barlow.
Thanks for reminding me that it's way past time mine gets a spin in my pocket!

I don't know about yours. but the thin grind on mine makes for a blazingly sharp edge.
This Opinel knife is special Gary!;)
I appreciate your comments, Harvey and Jeff and José. :) One of the features of the Opinel I really like is the oak handle; I think all my other Opinels are the standard beech. Jeff, I have to confess that my Sabre is not sharp at all! I took it with us on vacation one summer and worked it on a carborundum stone (and some DMT diamond "credit cards") a LOT and got nowhere with it. My technique has improved since then and I should give it another shot one of these days.

...
I believe great things come in 3's, great trifecta!!!
...
Thank you, sir. :)

Today I'll be toting a late 50's Scout knife with a sleek slicing toothpick:)
Potent pair right there! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Good morning everyone, today with GEC # 83 in Ebony!;)

I admire your handsome 83s, José!:cool::cool: Do the locks work well?

That’s great!

I don’t know if these are the right knives to carry for putting a new roof on a barn, but I guess I’ll find out...View attachment 1159466View attachment 1159465
Seems like you can't go wrong with that pair, Jeff!:cool::thumbsup: Are you replacing the roof from the rafters out, or just reshingling (or re-tin-roofing)?

Sawcut bone on your 2-blade Winchester Barlow, Dwight? It's a beauty!:thumbsup::cool:

Case Mini Trapper
Luscious bone, John! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I’ve noticed a lot of discussion on the #77 Barlow’s, so I decided to carry one of my favorites today. :) The Lambsfoot, well that’s just a given! ;) :D

Couple of champs, Ron!:thumbsup::thumbsup: The lambsfoot has some patine catch-up to do! ;)

... Also carried is my new obsession, the "SwissTank".

I like seeing you carry your SwissChamp, Buzz :cool::thumbsup:, but I miss the old Remington scouts sometimes.

Cool trio of knives, Dave, but I have to confess the wood in which they're placed has most of my attention!:cool::thumbsup: Did you custom make that? How many knives will a "tray" like that hold?

Unique and cool wood, Tim!:cool::cool: What kind is it?

Harvey, your stag HHB looks so good in that photo that it's making me fidget! ;):cool:

Thanks GT, the folder is a GEC that lived in my watch pocket for quite a while, I have long since forgotten the model number (a #36 perhaps?). It was a lot darker color when I got it, but has worn well. Nice carries, it looks like the Sabre Daddy barlow has some stories it could tell :).

These two today, the Pioneer X has become a near constant companion whether I picture it here or not. It is in my vehicle, or laptop back, or in a pocket, always close. I want to make a horizontal leather belt sheath for it, but I have zero leather working skills, might be a good project to begin the learning process.

Thanks for the ID, Tom. :) A 36 is a big old sunfish, right? Those are kind of cool knives just because of their size. My Sabre came from the guy with his office next to mine, and he found it while cleaning out his father-in-law's garage after FIL passed away.
Has the Pioneer become almost-EDC because of the scissors?:thumbsup::cool:

Looks like a productive trio, David!:thumbsup::cool: You actually take the pearl to work with you??

If it says Northfield, even if it's an SFO, then I've been told the answer is yes. :(

I am guessing that must coincide with their decision not to offer it with a polished finish anymore. Since Northfield generally equates to polished, then that ends up being nixed as well.
