So many of the plants I’ve been calling weeds and pulling from the garden year after year, are actually high in nutrients, or have some medicinal use.
Spurge, aka: common purslane, for example. I was walking through a Friends garden when he pointed some out and told me how it’s full of antioxidants.

I watched the video that Gevonovich Gevonovich linked to. We always have mullein in our yard, and generally leave it for the birds, but I was interested in its use by herbalists.

Saw you on the beach and almost self destructed
So well constructed
Sow Blue
My heart palpitating too
Now...Anytime that reality
Makes me heartsick
I'll come here just to stare
At the blue Pacific
Happy to be specific

Hope you did not burn the bread  :D

Treated to a wondrous happening this morning.....

The Boots (my cat ) and I were looking out over the garden in the glorious morning light. Suddenly, a tufted titmouse landed above the water bath in the small tree with a jolt. It caught our attention. Out of the sky, like a cartoon character, a black throated humming bird dive bombs the titmouse with blazing speed. They began to swirl through the branches, round and round, like a tornado.

Out of the storm would pop the humming bird; shooting skyward. Then back into the fray, round and round, in a blur of speed and agility. Comical and magical at the same time :D

Had a E. C. Simmons peanut in my hand

Amazing! How did Boots enjoy the show?
I've seen hummingbirds battle each other, but never a duel with a different type bird.

Good Monday, folks.

It got her all riled up ! She wanted out and played crouching tiger until a morning dove came for a drink. She was faster then greased lightning and could have had it and held back at the end. I was watching from inside and saw the whole thing unfold

That pair of smooth ivory bone gems are divine !! Did you get your jigged bone stockyard yet ? I can't wait to see it :p:D
