What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

How does it feel in-hand when using the clip blade, as shown in your picture? Looks to me like the hawkbill's spine might dig into (hand) material as well...?

~ P.

Surprisingly it is very comfortable while using the clip. When I first bought it, I carved with the clip and I had no hotspots.

DeadFall, If you can find one anywhere then go ahead and get two, ill pay ya back. I have been looking for awhile. I think these where a dealer exclusive that is all dried up :(

Thanks Stitch, I have been trying to put a kit like that together for awhile now. Those straws are an awsome idea, thanks for the pointers and quick pic.

I have three different tins, one based of the S.A.S tin for camping and long hikes, one for snowshoeing, and this smalls everyday tin. I find the smalls tin is practical and it comes in handy, I find the regular altoids tin is a bit bulky day to day.

In the appropriate place, I would like to take a look at those other ones. If you start a thread please let me know.

I second this motion. I have been wanting to do this for far too long; it is time to get my butt busy:)

I'll let you know if I come across anything, it has been toying with me for some time now. I feel your pain

I have so many knives on my radar now though from this forum that I can't even make a decision on what to do next...I had a cool idea to take an old carbon steel stockman with a punch and have it re-scaled with carbon fiber/blue G-10 with a shield like the Case Norfolk a while back, I just haven't gotten to that yet either! Why? It's a metaphor of the blending of tradition and modernization, changing times and a transition into the 'modern age'; very poetic IMO.

Now, I just need to save so I can have knife monies to do it :D

Staying on topic, I have these two on me. I have been trying to fix up this old girl since I've had her. I almost am able to open the small pen without destroying my nails and I am reprofiling the tip on the master blade so it rides below the liners. I can't wait until she is done!!

Story of my life so far! As for the Altoids tins, that is freaking cool! We need a thread like this for sure; please let me know if one starts up!

I found one about altoids survival kits, but I am not sure if what we have been talking about here would either go in that thread or a completely new one...

Hey Corso, it's one of John LLoyd's creations.
4'' closed, 52100 steel for the blade.

Great snap, awesome half stops, beautiful swedge.
