Nice slim trapper!
I have been wanting to ask...I realize that the "Black Box" refers to the box that they came in, but can you please explain why they are held in such esteem by so many on here? What time period were they made? Who made them for Winchester? Thanks, Stuart.

If there's such a thing as fool's bane, maybe that's what I need!;)

Hey ~ I can't quite make out the tang stamp, but think it's Camillus... what model is that? I like it.

And I see the subtle reference to your member name there, Mr Cutfinger.:thumbsup:

I missed your question about the knife the first time I viewed this page, skimming on my phone, but I was jumping back and forth here reading some exchanges just now and ran across it.

That knife is indeed a Camillus, a #18 serpentine jack. Got it two or three weeks ago and it's already a constant companion. I liked the steel on the #23 I got, so I kept lookin' to see what else I might like to try. A decent #72 and TL-29 are still on the list. And I'm in no hurry 'cause there's a lot of them out there.

The bandaid.... Um yeah, my tool pouch set up has a place where my Olfa knife blade can slide/drop into one of the pockets. I was letting myself get rushed at work, and put my knife back without securing the blade properly, and I was digging around for a screw:eek:!!! So I have been nursing a cut on my finger:(. That was the first time that happened, as I am aware of the danger. I felt like a fool, never again I hope.

If you ever run across fool's bane, lemme know and we can pool our money and get a bulk discount.;)

Oops! Here are some posts I intended to quote yesterday but was worried about not fitting in under the 10K character limit.
For Friday my totes will be a "latter period BB" Winchester waterfall sowbelly by Queen and a snappy old cocobola Robeson TL-29.
That 4-blade sowbelly is sweet!:thumbsup::cool:

Today with Bulldog barlow 2007 on stag.;)

Thank you Gary, I'm flattered :) :)

Great combo Mike :) I've always liked the Compact, even when it was called the Golfer, and would like to claim some credit for the change of name
