Wishing everyone a great holiday weekend!

I have put away my old bone Case knives and today I am totin’ a newer jigged bone Sowbelly. Ken Erickson has a unique way of making traditional knives that also seem contemporary in the process. Very unique.

D Duckdog , I second your remarks Stuart!

Half/Stop Half/Stop , so glad to hear things are looking up Ron! Thank you for your compliment on my old Case knives, but you weren’t buying knives in the Tested Era were you?!

r8shell r8shell , are you a lawyer? You seem to be very good at finding loopholes with regard to carrying and collecting knives! Then again, I guess we all go through similar contortions with this hobby. In any event, beautiful knives!

TheFactor, I'm not sure of your situation, but I do enjoy your posts and pictures. Try taking a few deep breaths and settle down a bit. You do add a lot here.

There are a lot of situations in life that leave a "bitter taste" in our mouths. We can't just walk away everytime it happens.

You have a great collection. Don't give up on it or us here at blade forums.

God Bless
Tracy
Thanks very much Tracy for reaching out and the kind thoughts and words :)
I really use to enjoy posting pictures, sharing the excitement more then I can put into words, the pride of ownership and sometimes the chase of acquiring certain traditionals . But it’s come to a point now because of some “politics” it’s not fun anymore and as you and most know it isn’t a cheap hobby or can be costly I should say as it’s all on the individual of course And there collecting habits and tastes. So it comes down to I’m not going to pay to be frustrated or not be happy in any hobby. I’m sure this post won’t last and will be deleted like several previous posts .So hopefully you’ll see it before it disappears. I might just start selling my modest collection off 1 and 2 at a time Incase I change my mind but at this point I don’t think it’ll happen.

I am not a lawyer, but both my grandfathers were. :D I may have picked up some of the mentality:

I challenge myself to carry my Stockyard Whittler* every day**, until the first frost*** of Autumn****.

*in addition to any other knife or knives I may choose
**unless I am compelled to participate in an event or travel to a location where knife carry is restricted.
*** first frost can be interpreted to mean "jacket weather", as commonly understood in central Texas.
****if such previously defined cold weather does not occur before the autumnal equinox, this challenge may be extended to any time of my choosing, up to, but not exceeding the winter solstice.

That is so cool!!!

Barlow and a Jack today

That old Barlow is a beauty.

Now I'm going to have to sleep with the light on tonight.

Great pair of knives, Rachel.:thumbsup:

What do you think I've been doing?!!! Ha ha ha. Fortunately, I have a Great Pyrenees that sleeps at the foot of our bed. He has instructions to take out the puppets. With prejudice.

Playing catch up, ugh. Sorry if I've missed anyone. Spent most of the day yesterday acquiring and bringing home additional furniture. Except for a brief stop to have a tire plugged which gave me time to get on BF for a few minutes. And today will be The Rearranging of the Furniture Party ha ha. Kim's new Doctor's knife she carried yesterday along with her new favorite mug that was a gift from a gentleman admirer ;)

Today's carries. Queen-made Moore Maker Muskrat in honey bone and Kutmaster Scout knife in a contender for the Top 10 in the Most Mismatched Scales category. I'm not quite sure how you get Delrin that far off, but there you go. It really looks like someone dyed one side. It's another estate sale rescue, so I'll never know. Cool knife, planning to utilize the cap lifter here very soon.

There have been some nice posts so far this morning, but this one has made my day. Thanks for the update, Ron.

Thank you Stuart! :)

Thanks sir! I wasn’t buying knives in the Tested Era. When I first started buying and collecting Case knives in the early 70’s Tested knives were quite common and readily available! ;) Actually they were considerably more available than my monetary funding! :D

@5K Qs - Thank you GT. Your Quotidian Quartet makes for a fabulous Sunday carry.

Half/Stop Half/Stop - Great news Ron. You have great day as well with those nice two.

Not carrying today just pulled her out of the safe to show off the blurred out non Blade forums dealer so it won’t be deleted. Wonder if I should of blurred out the oil on the tip of the blade , not sure if it was the non bf dealer or Gec ?
Happy etching Blade Forums !

Seriously considering selling off my traditional collection and not buying anymore including possibly canceling my BladeForum knife with collectors knives a blade forum dealer ”no fault of Mikes” due to BladeForum politics that left a very bitter taste in my mouth I can’t seem to shake. But with that being said this one I will never sell and I’m sure will last my life time and do everything I need and if not a tactical will do the job.
This one represents my good memories with traditionals I received directly from The man Waynorth “Charlie “
Much respect and I have and will always carry with pride:)

I hit the "like" for the knives, and out of respect of your personal moral integrity. I also say keep and enjoy your knives, and I agree you do contribute in a good way to the community. I can respect a man that draws a line in the sand and stands his ground, whether I agree with his viewpoint or not. As the saying goes, I dont have a dog in this race,so I withhold my opinion of it. Do as you feel is right,I wish you the best no matter the choice.
