What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nanc is putting together the Fall display out front and I honestly had this Orange Jigged Bone 66 Jack that arrived Saturday:thumbsup: It actually helped by cutting Sisal to help the scarecrow stand upright:thumbsup:

I hit the "like" for the knives, and out of respect of your personal moral integrity. I also say keep and enjoy your knives, and I agree you do contribute in a good way to the community. I can respect a man that draws a line in the sand and stands his ground, whether I agree with his viewpoint or not. As the saying goes, I dont have a dog in this race,so I withhold my opinion of it. Do as you feel is right,I wish you the best no matter the choice.
I think your reply is coming from a man with more personal moral integrity then I. But with that being said your thoughts and kinds words are much appreciated Sir more then I can say :)
Edit: I also always try to remember it can always be worse :D

I challenge myself to carry my Stockyard Whittler* every day**, until the first frost*** of Autumn****.
That's an outstanding knife to challenge yourself with Rachel; I think the 29 exhibits among the best edge geometry I have witnessed from GEC!:thumbsup::rolleyes:

Been totin' this French beauty all day with a singular purpose: dinner time.

That's as clear as I could get the picture. My hands were shaking.

Beautiful French knives are certainly made for "Haute Cuisine"; I'd be shaking too if I were opening a fifty year old fabulous French Bordeaux!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Here's a knife that's undergone rehabilitation, physical and metaphysical;)

Got it years ago from a then 'famed' dealer who actually messed up two other orders and wasn't pleasant about it either....it had what I thought were quite a few faults. The BEM was this pinkish colour that I hated, the shield fell out after less than a week-well OK these are relative. The blade had a large chip out of it from hitting the backspring, and blunt...you could let a baby fondle it:D very pointy tip though:eek: The nail nick was nearly under the liner so you need an on point nail to get at it.On complaining to this dealer- now longer in action possibly no longer with us;)I got a boorish response to say the least...end of relations. So it 'rotted' away unloved in a drawer until recently. Diamonds got the large chip out of the D2 and a fine edge emerged, saw other qualities-no gaps, no play at all, great W&T but don't let it snap due to the edge rap. Then found some old restoration polish, something you apply and leave overnight. It darkened the BEM and a bit of carry made it glow:cool: From zero to hero :D

Thanks very much Tracy for reaching out and the kind thoughts and words :)
I really use to enjoy posting pictures, sharing the excitement more then I can put into words, the pride of ownership and sometimes the chase of acquiring certain traditionals . But it’s come to a point now because of some “politics” it’s not fun anymore and as you and most know it isn’t a cheap hobby or can be costly I should say as it’s all on the individual of course And there collecting habits and tastes. So it comes down to I’m not going to pay to be frustrated or not be happy in any hobby. I’m sure this post won’t last and will be deleted like several previous posts .So hopefully you’ll see it before it disappears. I might just start selling my modest collection off 1 and 2 at a time Incase I change my mind but at this point I don’t think it’ll happen.

You're welcome.
Unfortunately sometimes we all have to do what we think is right and at the end of the day know that we stood our ground.

Raining today, thunder & lightning since 0300 and the highest King Tide I've ever seen off the ICW. Gotta go drop my boat off the lift and around to the town ramp so I can trailer it inland ahead of the storm. I think stainless steel and a light rain jacket will be the order of the day! Case 63032SS. OH

Good luck,OH. That storm looks really nasty & they still can't predict where it's going to go after it rips up everything to shreds in the Bahamas. We don't have much trouble with hurricanes here in the mountains of Pennsylvania, but we have kids & siblings that live in FL, so we know the drill.

For Labor Day I'm carrying a very old friend that has seen its share of hard work since I bought it 49 years ago.
