What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I've got my new Farm and Field #71 with me today... since I don't have a farm or a field, this one was with me doing back yard duty. Nothing needed cutting, so it's still un-marked.... probably won't last that way for long...

Not today but for the previous 2 weeks while on vacation, Vic Spartan. Came in handy during an ambush. At no time did i feel underknifed, the main blade didn't require resharpening either. Came in handy for lesser duties as well, like slicing cheese and veggies, spreading butter, removing cactus splinters.

Thank you steelnut, the Presidentials are wonderful and useful knives. My favorite, I think, that Northwoods/GEC has done. Brings a smile to my face to carry and use.

Was feeling like a little yeller cv for today :)

Beautiful brace of knives, Ron!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

These two will be carried most of the weekend...
Cool arrangement of your dueling lambsfoots, John!:cool::thumbsup:

Yesterday’s carries. Moore Maker punch Stockman and Buck 305 with Kim’s creep Pelham Puppets. All from the estate sale. The Moore. Akers took some work. Puppets and Buck were pristine. Yes, I understand the risk I tool putting sharp objects so near creep puppets! ;)

Disturbing images, Chris!:D Are you going to post your new puppets in the Toys thread?;)

Thank you, Gary! I wonder how many Case mini copperhead knives have been purchased because of your photo. Good looking set of knives.:thumbsup:
Sunday carry - Case Barlow in Turquoise bone and Case Navy blue bone mini copperhead.

Thanks for the compliments, Dean. :) Apparently my photo of the Case blue mini copperhead is responsible for at least one sale!;)

This is the first TC Barlow I ever bought.

Very distinctive TC, Dean! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Interesting comparison shot.:cool::cool: I'd never thought about that new GEC #29 being a Churchill with punch.

Perfectly, pleasingly pastoral, Jack! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Ice is nice, Dave! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Back from a wet early garden inspection.
I chose slim ‘n light for Sunday go to meetin’, thinking that I could always swap for something more burly for chores later on, but these two are danged capable.View attachment 1188974
Your Case couple definitely looks capable, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool:

They are fine knives Gary! :D

Thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers! :) I’m happy to say that my brother in law was able to return home yesterday evening after a week in the hospital!  I’m carrying two today! Y’all have a great day! :D
...
Thanks, Ron. :)
And I'm SO thankful your hospital vigil, unlike too many others, had a happy ending!:cool::thumbsup:

Hmm, I don't think I have any knives with more than four blades. Unless we count the multi-tools on a Swiss Army Knife...

Nice to see your quotidian foursome, again. :)
...
Thanks, Rachel. :)

I am not a lawyer, but both my grandfathers were. :D I may have picked up some of the mentality:

I challenge myself to carry my Stockyard Whittler* every day**, until the first frost*** of Autumn****.

*in addition to any other knife or knives I may choose
**unless I am compelled to participate in an event or travel to a location where knife carry is restricted.
*** first frost can be interpreted to mean "jacket weather", as commonly understood in central Texas.
****if such previously defined cold weather does not occur before the autumnal equinox, this challenge may be extended to any time of my choosing, up to, but not exceeding the winter solstice.

What's that saying? "The devil is in the small print." :p:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Greg, Chris, and David, what a bone bonanza you gentlemen have posted!!!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I like the variety of your knives Gary.;)
Thanks, José; variety is supposed to be the "spice of life", right? :)

After adding knives that arrived since I last put together a rotation schedule, I now have a new schedule (including one new category) that should last me 52 weeks! ;):thumbsup: Here are some of the carries prescribed for the first week with the new schedule.

First time out of safe since receiving. I’d like to thank DLT for sending me this perfect example before she goes back into the safe :)
Main and secondary blade flush at the half stop with centered blades. Main blade is a 5 pull secondary a 6 and punch about a 7  all very snappy.
I think it’s ok to mention DLT ;)
Since there a outstanding dealer really no need to be a BF dealer like others that aren’t .Even though they are I’m sure out of the kindness of there heart to keep blade Forums a float

Thanks Gary; I was just following Stuart's great lead!!! That thread of BB Winchesters has some amazing examples. thanks!;)

Thank you very much for your kind words Gary!!! I'm certain your Quotidian Quartet has become a "traditional knife" thread classic, which I always love to see!:thumbsup::D

That's an outstanding knife to challenge yourself with Rachel; I think the 29 exhibits among the best edge geometry I have witnessed from GEC!:thumbsup::rolleyes:

Lovely image Dan; the Monarch and the Lambfoot, very cool!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

An amazing shot Harvey; the Wharncliffe looks like an exotic bird with the great reflection you captured!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Classic and wonderful Case Redbone on those two incredible beauties David; both outstanding patterns too!:thumbsup:;)

Hard to beat a great, old beauty Nick; my peekers are worn but it looks like a Robeson (awesome no matter what!!!):D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Wow Paul; the coloring of the covers on your 66 are absolutely stunning!:thumbsup::eek:

Those stag covers on your beauty are breathtaking Harry; I can only imagine the great feeling that knife would evoke!:thumbsup::rolleyes:

Beautiful French knives are certainly made for "Haute Cuisine"; I'd be shaking too if I were opening a fifty year old fabulous French Bordeaux!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Beautiful knife, Paul. :)
I really like the #66 Jacks, and the color on yours is amazing.
And thanks for bringing some Fall color to the Porch, I can't wait for my favorite season.

My Tote for this Holiday Monday...

John, JJ, Thank you:thumbsup: John hard to beat a Case 6292 and that's a nice one:thumbsup:

I think today I’ll carry this Camillus I picked up over the Memorial Day weekend.

What a great old knife!
Stunning pair of Schrades, sir!
My humble '70s Buck 303. Bought it for myself and one for my dad (God rest his soul).

Beautiful pic and the sentiment is even more so.

I’m not sure if it’s the knife, or the composition, but this knife photo has me coming back for second and third looks.
Very well done!

Here’s the fruit of my day’s labor on labor day:
11 pints, and 19 quarts of my famous
() mango salsa,
And 5 quarts of tomatoes & basil.
( There IS a knife in this photo, but the only thing it was used for was to cut into the meat on the smoker to test it)

Isn’t it a rule that you have to send salsa to the first fella that quotes the post???

5K Qs 5K Qs - Thank you GT. It was a tree branch, found on the ground, whose shape and color, drew me to pick it up. It looked like a torso, up to the neck, with outstretched hands. At least that’s what I saw.:) Crazy about your red Alox, with it’s distressed look.
