What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Boy, this thread spun up pretty quickly. I took today off for opening of dove season. A long drive to sit in the sun, like going to the beach. I got a nice spot in the shade (88° and 65% humidity) and over several hours, collected 8 doves (from the 15 I fired at, and that wasn't just 15 shots). Got home late, cleaned doves, made a drink and here I am, several pages behind. A fine day, all in all.

Raining today, thunder & lightning since 0300 and the highest King Tide I've ever seen off the ICW. Gotta go drop my boat off the lift and around to the town ramp so I can trailer it inland ahead of the storm. I think stainless steel and a light rain jacket will be the order of the day! Case 63032SS. OH
Stay safe out there Bruce; it sounds like a potentially big blow in your AO, all the best!!!
For Labor Day I'm carrying a very old friend that has seen its share of hard work since I bought it 49 years ago.
Perfect old pal for Labor Day; still looks like a tough old worker, excellent!;):thumbsup:
I plan to carry and use this knife a lot.

Outstanding Jeff!!! Some of the best 1095 version steels and blade geometry were produced by these two legendary cutlery companies!:thumbsup::D
In recovering from my recent neck surgery I'm basically house-bound, so am lounging around the house in light "scrubs," with no heavy knives wanted. So I've been carrying smaller knives for the most part, and today I switched to this old Ulster jr. cattleman.
Great to hear your'e on the mend, Jeff; nothing better to pass the time than noodling around with a classic beauty like your Ulster!:thumbsup::)
Thank you JJ. Turning a negative into a positive is always a fun challenge. Meaning that I like to show detail, even in the shadows, which is challenging when the blade is much brighter than everything else. I see you doing that with your brace of fine Robesons, and doing it quite nicely.
Thanks Harvey, I couldn't agree more!!! You certainly posted some more amazing imagery of your Sheffield lovelies!:thumbsup::rolleyes:
Really like the handle texture on both of those, JJ!:cool::thumbsup:
Thanks Gary!!! It's great you added a weekly sowbelly to your rotation as that is certainly an all around wonderful pattern; love the pocket worn SAK Alox too!:thumbsup:;)
Here’s the fruit of my day’s labor on labor day:
11 pints, and 19 quarts of my famous
:)rolleyes:) mango salsa,
And 5 quarts of tomatoes & basil.
Wow, that looks like a heaping helping of phenomenal salsa;I wish I could reach through the screen!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I went on a hike to Pololū Valley with my wife and dog today. Had my trusty Spartan in my pack.
Hard to beat hiking in paradise; your photo reminds me of numerous aquatic adventures on those beautiful islands!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Looks like you had a blast Stuart; very cool!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Going to put an edge on this and carry tomorrow. REMINGTON R040

Nice old veteran!

For my two Tuesday totes I'm going for more from Robeson; an English jack in strawberry bone and a spey Barlow in burgundy. :D
Wait! I’ll put on my white gloves.

Today with GEC #15 TC.;)

Beautiful knife and photos!

Great pair! Nice color on that Case.

I really like those Dan Burke Queens, a nice little stockman!

Thank you. Very happy with it.

Disturbing images, Chris!:D Are you going to post your new puppets in the Toys thread?;)
- GT

Those are most definitely NOT my puppets ha ha! But I'll see if Kim will post them. Whilst I hide in a closet. Well-armed ;)

Those are sweet.

Once again, a pair of your Robesons leaves me speechless.

Finally get to participate in all the "Ebony and Ivory" fun! Pair of Camillus made knives today. Buffalo horn Moore Maker 4 1/8" Trapper and "French Ivory" Camillus 66. Another from the estate sale. A little work to do on the blades still, but after getting it cleaned up yesterday I couldn't leave it at home. From what I've found, this tang stamp puts it between 1946 to 1950? Someone with more knowledge than I feel free to confirm or refute.
