What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks Gev and Jeff!!
Your NYK is killer Gev! That is an old one, just beautiful.
Jeff I like the honest wear on the micarta.

Thank you JJ. It’s from after WW2 to around the mid 50’s with a different blade combo setup from the original that my other 72 has. Love the bone on your scout!

Sharpened it up and put it my pocket.
I love this one, and the other 72 you posted as well. Both are quite nice.

Your 29 has been eating a lot of ramen :thumbsup: Looking better every day !!
Thank you. It's like an O. Henry story. ;) I want to put a good steak patina on my new blade, but I spent all my steak money on it. :D
First day of "Autumn"

That's interesting Rachel, I imagine the pattern would be pretty good for that. I read that all Japanese school kids carried Higonakamis at one time, and pencil sharpening competitions were commonplace. Perhaps somebody was trying to steal a lead! :D ;)

Thank you, I am :)
I might have the patterns confused. It amused me to think of the current marketing of the Kiridashi knife as a stabby self defense blade, when it was traditionally used by schoolgirls for mundane tasks.

Another striking pair, John! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
Thank you, GT.
I do like my ebony in bunches. :)

Sköl has me howling at the moon, John!:cool::cool:
Thanks again, GT.
He gets restless when I don't take him outside once in a while. ;)

Looking like a true ancient.

I want to put a good steak patina on my new blade, but I spent all my steak money on it. :D
Lol... :D

A beautiful knife and well photographed Â! :D

A classic Charlow Jack! Hope you’re having a good day my friend! :)

I was feeling like I needed some Iron this morning and I’m bummed because I missed out on the #77 Barlow’s for the first time since they started making them. ;) So, I decided on these two today to fill the needs! Y’all have a good one! :D

Congrats on the new Camillus, Nick; they make quite a notable pair!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks guys! 72’s hit the sweet spot for me. You’ve got all grounds covered as usual with your totes Gary. I like the horn covers on your sow! sunknife sunknife Its nice to see all the knives you carry being used. There are a few I carry I don’t use but will have another user. Some knives are pocket jewelry for me.:) But the 72 will be used!

Beautiful example there, I'm still after a 72 but they just command too much on the Bay unless they're wrecked.
Some day I'll score one I hope
Thank you! They don’t come by often and I got lucky finding this one in very nice condition at a decent price I offered. I hope you find one! To me the 72 pattern is pretty much the perfect pocket knife. To have the bolsters and covers rounded off at the edges would make it even more perfect!

Indeed it is an homage to a knife designed some more than a few decades ago, the Schrade 2OT. One of @waynorth's finest commissions, if you ask me.

sunknife sunknife The upper two below are the pattern to which traumkommode traumkommode refers. I agree that Charlie's is a fine homage. But, then, all of Charlie's offerings are pretty special.

I finished power washing our top deck today just in time to accept delivery of a new king-size hybrid foam/coil mattress for our master bedroom. Yah!! The old mattress weighed 125 lbs, and the new one is a lighter 120 lbs. I decided to cut the old one into more manageable sections to get it outside. 11.5" thick X 74" wide!! My start with a box cutter was comedic. I switched to the Klein Tools duct knife below. Aggressive serrated on one side, scalpel sharp plain edge on other. BAAAD ASSH.
