I really like this stockman. But some previous custodian decided to work the blades over with sandpaper.
I suspect the auctionsite seller, because of the artful way his photography de-emphasized the ham handed clean up.
I have bought some rust buckets and “for parts or repair pocket knives”, where taking sandpaper to the blades was justifiable/necessary. Or when reprofiling a blade. The thing is, you don’t stop at some medium grit. Once you start, you really need to go up through the grades of sandpaper, each removing the scratches from the previous until it shines. Unless you’re just a hack.
