What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Two signs you're getting older... Barlows and hard candies!!! :D
Ha! :D I think my grandma always had some kind of hard candy in her purse. If we were lucky, they were the raspberry ones. I wonder if she had a Barlow in there, too. ;)

Whoa! That curved, jigged bone, stepped bolster, sheep/pen Battle Axe Barlow is a show-stopper, Stuart!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, GT.

What a terrific twosome of trappers, Stuart!:thumbsup::cool: Compared to the trappers overbuilt like tanks, yours are so satisfyingly slim!

You've certainly outdone any "Doublemint" ad, nicest trapper pair I've seen; love those Win BBs!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, guys.

Beautiful colors!

Really fine pieces Stuart, nicely matched up too. OH

Two gorgeous Primbles you've got there Stuart!
Nice photos too.
The serpentine jack makes me feel envious.;)

Looking at your old friends, I can't help but think they both might have been made for Primble by Camillus. It is just an observation, I am no authority. Perhaps some here with much more knowledge can shed some light on the subject. I gotta keep my eye out for books on dating and identifying old pocket knives.

A couple of beauties Stuart !

Love that EE Boker !!!

Love the covers on your two Friday friends; the Big Jack is extra cool with those beautiful bolsters!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, guys. I think that the Primbles that I have are some of my favorite knives - really well made. Michael, I don't know much about the Primbles' production, other than that Camillus made knives for several of the old hardware firms like Belknap, which owned the Primbles trademark. And Camillus made some mighty fine knives.

For Friday I've got a couple from the 1920-30s era; a black EE Pen and a bone covered Jack, both by Robeson.:)

Wow, JJ, they look like they are new.

Today with M. May barlow cherry wood lambsfoot.;)

That wood is wonderful, José.

Stag/Horn Knife of the Week is a Colt stag muskrat

What a handsome muskrat, GT.

"This is a test, this is only a test." Can I carry only this gents?

That knife passes my carry test, Alan.

Been in the woods since last Sunday on a hunting trip, carried this Case 3318 with me.

The 2218 is a quintessential hunting camp carry, Bruce. Good choice.

I'd go nuts over that grand old knife, too, Jack.

Keen Kutter Cattle knife and a #74

Lovely Keen Kutter, Steve.

Hope everyone has had a good week, and that you all have a fabulous weekend. The weather here is ROTTEN, but I'm heading over to the City of York tomorrow regardless! ;) Just hope I don't end up knee-deep in the River Ouse (as seen below, pre-flood) :D I'll have these two with me ;)

A great pair fr traveling, Jack. Stay dry (I saw news that the River Don was recently flowing at flood levels).

A BB Win wearing Abalone

Other than your posts, I've not seen a BB Winchester clad in abalone, JJ. Excellent!

Utica Jack and a Calf Roper for today !

The Utica gives your previously posted Keen Kutter a run for the money, Steve (nice looking Calf Roper, too).

That lovely old knife is mighty lucky to have fallen into the right pair of loving hands. Congratulations, r8shell, and thanks saving another worthy worker.

Thank you. So far, so good. Life is good regardless of the issues we all have to deal with. Watching the knives and discussions here and getting the occasional traditional knife are one of my small joys in life.
I moved the #44 on, but when I get better I will likely have another.

That's a very positive attitude :)

Thank you Jack!!! Another beautiful old Sheffield Lamb; always love to see hammered pins, true artisans!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks JJ :)

For Saturday "Surf and Turf" is on the menu; A BB Win wearing Abalone and a Navy EO jack wearing bovine.:)

:D

Mine too, her favourites were 'chocolate limes' and 'Victory V's, you don't see much of either here anymore. Nice newbie Rachel ;)

Fell off the the grid, but like Old Man River, the Porch just keeps rolling along. Wonderful images and photos from the many contributors.

A couple of newly acquired Ebony Lambs.

Great to have you back Harvey :)

I'd go nuts over that grand old knife, too, Jack.

Thanks a lot Stuart :) Yes, there's been a lot of serious flooding along the Don. York is at the confluence of the Rivers Ouse and Foss, and usually one of the first places to flood, but so far the worst flooding has been further south. Hope you're having a great weekend my friend

My three user Eurekas....the camel bone gets pocket time today. Has to be in a slip and main pocket though...dang Levis watch pocket is too small.

The Eureka's have quickly become my favorite pattern. Just ordered the TFG Micarta so I'll have all six from this run. Guess I'll have to start looking for previous run knives now. Your collection is awesome!

This is my favorite carry ...
