What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My Sunday totes are both BSA knives by Imperial; an official "Cub" and an official "Scout", both the first from Imperial following WWII. :)

On my honor, I have to say that those two bring back a lot of fond memories.

Last year's Forum Knife has really pleased me in all ways, carry it a lot. The 154 remains keen and is a superb slicer, plus it's all steel construction so rain or shine you have no corrosion-sorry, patina or brass bleed :D Great field knife for food prep too. A tremendous effort and total bargain for the money.

Well said, Will, and following posts proved you point.

Just got this Katz stockman in a couple days ago. Bought the hardwood model to go with a jigged bone version I’d already purchased. A fellow forum member recommended these as being well made, which they are. Come in quite sharp as well. Nice knives.

One thing I think they need is a shield. I like a shield on a traditional. If I had skills in this area, I’d put one on myself, but I’m pretty sure I’d end up really messing it up. Lol.

What a fine looking knife. Thanks for sharing, as I'd not seen that maker's work.

Nice thin gnarly Stag.

Nice pair, LT. Well presented.

Imperial Navy Utility and an Ulster Barlow today

That pair is really fine, individually and together, Steve.

Blades and boots all look to be designed for heavy duty service, Stuart!:thumbsup::cool:

Those stripes definitely should thaw the pipes, Stuart!;)

Nice color on your vintage Robeson, Stuart!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks for the kind comments, GT, and for those that you've made that I've missed mentioning. I appreciate your opinions and wit.

Stag/Horn Knife for me this past week is a Joker my daughter bought for me in Spain:

That Joker is all that a knife needs to be, and handsome to boot.

Nice carry Stuart :)

Thanks, Jack, and I've enjoyed your bevy of barlows.

Today's totes are a couple of Remington knives; an R2215 jack from the 1930s and an R1225 "big" jack from the late 1940s-early 50s by Camillus. :)

That is some very mellow yellow, JJ. Gorgeous.

Today I have paired my old remington scout with my 861.

They both have a little fanciness on the back liners. These are a nice pair of knives.

A great pairing, Paul. The covers and the coined liners complete the package.

Thank you, Jack! I love that ol' Joseph Haywood, it is a pleasingly intriguing knife.

A pale duo for me today. I hope everyone's Monday has been pleasant, and if not, there is always tomorrow.

Thanks Dylan, me too, it is a lovely knife, a kind gift from @Old & In The Way :) It weighs almost nothing in the hand, has some great features, and sharpens like a dream. I'm carrying it again today, with my Hartshead Barlow. Smashing pair there my friend :) Have a good day everyone

My most used GEC 53. Schrade Walden GEC SFO.

That would be walden knife co, which was one of the other knife companies out of walden. There were several, including schrade, but they were separate manufacturers. Another was new york knife co who had the hammer brand line which was their premium line. Walden knife co and NYKC went out of business before ww2. Imperial bought NYKC and used the hammer brand name from the 30's until the 50's and those knives were not nearly as well made as the top of the line NYKC hammer brand. Your GEC does the walden knife co name proud with a top quality knife.

Thanks Gev, I have to admit that GEC72 is one of my favorite carries in my collection.:)

Yesterday and todays pocket items pictured below. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. View attachment 1249473View attachment 1249478

@sunknife , love the shot against the leaves. I have that same fixed blade but from the sister company, Battle Horse Knives. Great knife. This little Enzo that arrived over the weekend has just bumped it from the pocket the last two days:

Planning to put some scales on it soon.
