Got me laughing, Stuart. My trip to the market, to pick up a rib roast for Christmas day, ended with me on the cell with my wife, as she reeled off about a dozen items she forgot to pick up.
A couple of fingers of bourbon is definitely on this evening's agenda.
Than you very much Jack!!! Another walk around the block with your fantastic pair; pretty hard to beat!Love that match safe JJ, it's the ideal partner for your Remington Scout![]()
Hope everyone's week is off to a good start, and that you're all in a holiday moodThought I'd carry these two again today

Thank you kindly Buzz; I can certainly recall the old "Boys Life" days!!! Wonderful image of your stately Remington BSA; they sure knew how to make a fine knife!Great scout!!! You and I are of similar mind today. My RS3333 is one of my two favorite camp knives. An absolute work of art in every way. I'll be carrying it for the rest of the week, with Christmas quickly approaching. It's the sort of knife that every young boy once dreamt of getting as a Christmas present, after thumbing thorough the ads in Boys' Life magazine for the thousanth time.

Thanks a lot Gary; a single spring it is!!!Hard for me to pick my favorite in that pair, JJ!Superlative bone on the jack, but I'm going to go with the pen configuration, especially if it's a single spring.

Thank you, Jack. An excellent pair you toted today.![]()
I woke up with a light heart today, as I had very little to do having completed all of my holiday shopping and chores (tree, firewood, cocktail fixin's, cleared upper and lower back decks in case we lit the fire pits. I figured this little Battle Axe could handle totin' duties easily.

Then, over coffee, Miss Norma informed me of the chores of which I was previously unaware, but had to be done today - mostly driving and shopping for last minute items that "we" forgot, and getting rid of the resulting boxes. I decided that this one was more appropriate, in more ways than one.

Now, settled in with an elixir and my dog by the fire.

Tis the season to be jolly, Jeff!![]()
I'm on the Tripel Ale kick lately, but if you're drinkin' fine bourbon, I can certainly find an excuse for conviviality![]()
Drop on by, the bar is stocked . . . and so is the fridge!
I have a knife that had shell extractors, but somebody sawed them off.
Great pairing of the top two knives of the year.Happy Christmas Eve folks, wishing each and every one of you a joyous and peaceful Christmas. I'll be taking it easy, for the most part today, hoping to enjoy some good food and a few libations this eveningTreating myself to a Double Lambsfoot Day

That's very exciting. No 'merry water' for me this Christmas. My second child is 6 days overdue, so I have to be in shape to drive my wife anytime soon.
I have chosen these fine gentlemen to accompany me to 'the theater'.

Simple and classic... Great knife, James. Merry Christmas to you.Thought of waiting till Old Friends Friday to carry this but I couldn't resist the call of the yellow Case.

Leather, wood, and steel~ I like this photo!Part of my carry today and what a treat it was!

This ‘19 BF knife sure looks good. I’m anxious to get mine in hand! We fly home Thursday night, and I’m expecting a pile of mail that our friendly postman has been holding for us.![]()
The main one today. Been anticipating this one most of the year. Not disappointed. Exceeds expectations. Quite extraordinary, actually.
You have re-edumacated me into seeing the beauty in what some would call old and worn out. Quite comforting as I approach that categorization!I like the way epoxy gives you more time to adjust the shield before it sets. Hate superglue. It can get brittle with age, and I have to wear latex gloves that I can slip out of when I glue my hand to the table.
I read somewhere that they were trying to calculate how much and at what rate Venice has sunk. They couldn't find written records going back very far, and someone had the brilliant idea of going to the museums to look at the water level depicted in the old paintings.
And Festivus, of course!
Today I've got the new Forum knife and this ole butter & molasses.
