What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Yesterday we attended visitation and services for a long time friend. One of the most godly gentleman I’ve ever known. More like a brother than a friend. I was blessed to have known him. The graveside services are today and it’s raining again. Yesterday and today I’ve been carrying this 2018 Buck forum knife.

Sorry to hear that, Ron, but good that he was godly.

All are terrific Harry, but you know how I love those Stags my friend! :)

Thanks Dylan! That is definitely a premium pair you have today. Both are very nice Ebony! :D

Thank you, Ron! My condolences in regards to the loss of your friend, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Those 2 go well together Dylan . I surely expect that I have seen a Black Opinel before , but I can not remember when , and yours looks good to me . Or since you like to Tinker and Twix with some of your knives , maybe you dyed it ???? Either way it looks good .
I keep kicking myself for not getting one of those Ebony Lambfoot . Nice picture too my friend . The Red coffee cup and black knives go well together . I look in my cupboards and think we have a coffee cup collection also .
Thank you very much for the kind words my friend . That is not quite all of my Northfield Stag and it is about half of all of my Stags . I hope that you can catch me and I hope that I live long enough to see it . I am thinking about changing my buying habit for new knives though and only buy Stag . Remember the slips that you made for the early Sheffield Lambfoot ? I usually use one of them when I carry 2 Stag at once . Very nice slips that you made . Take care my friend .

Harry

Thank you, Harry! The Opinel is actually Ebony - no dyeing required :D. They tend to be considerably more expensive than the more value based configurations but I was able to find this one at a good price and the rich Ebony and polished blade really demonstrate the fine work that they are capable of, even on such a simple design.

Stag has really grown on me over these last few years - I remember not liking it much at all. I even sold a 66 in some spectacular Stag and it is probably my most regrettable decision when it comes to my collection. How tastes can change...

A couple 73's in Stag today . Both Drop Point and one of them is a Liner Lock . All photos are older ones.

Harry

Gorgeous as always, Harry! I will never tire of seeing such Stag.

Thanks Dylan, hope you're having a good one :) Fine-looking pair

Thank you, Jack. A fine assortment of cutlery you've been keeping close at hand. I hope the weather isn't affecting you too terrible over there.

A couple of recent acquisitions, a Lloyd LC and a GEC 61. Don't forget the frame meaning a camera.View attachment 1280439

Just received this stag teardrop by @Jeffery mitchell and it dove right in my pocket. View attachment 1281422

Tremendous Stag, Alan! I especially like the groovy nature of that Lloyd (that is Stag, yes? Knowing me, I could be mistaken). Spectacular, nonetheless.

First of all, stunning pair yourself! As for my #86, this is from Lone Star Knives, and is made from steel and pine harvested from the USS Texas. Part of the proceeds from each sale goes to the museum there. It's for a good cause, and I have to say, you know the depth of my collection along more modern lines, but I'll tell you that this #86 is simply one of the most perfect knives I own. I'm grateful to have it.

Sorry, Forrest, for some reason, your quote didn't make it into my post above (I thought it was missing something). This site has been all sorts of laggy and slow as of late.

Regardless, Thank you very much for the compliment and the info on that beauty of yours. I know I have heard of Lone Star Knives and have known of some of their SFOs but I definitely had forgotten. You certainly have a special knife there, I am happy you could make it yours.

A very busy Monday for me today with lots of running around so I just had the one in my pocket.

Thanks a lot JJ, it's still not looking very nice out there, but for the most part, storms tend to be an inconvenience here, rather than a threat
That's good, I did see some pretty wild photos of your storm! Here we rarely get strong storms, but we do get big fires and earthquakes:eek:
Great start to the week JJ :) I'm treating myself to another Double Lambsfoot Day to start the week ;) :D

Great solid worker that will always have your back; nice photo, too!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
A well-worn High Carbon cattle knife, and the first TL-29 I ever mangled up. In micarta with a modded utility blade. Homely but extremely sharp and sturdy.

Fantastic wood covers on your TEW lamb; cool "shot" of your RR, too!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks, J, and both of those are bodacious!
Thanks a lot Stuart!!!
Well, Monday came and squatted on us with constant rain. I took it as a sign to stay indoors and do indoor things. Deviant intervention, I think they call it. Anywho, I took the easy way.

Very handsome old Queen EO to go with you sweet libations!;):thumbsup:

Stay safe and dry, Jack. :)

Yikes! Keep safe, Jack.

Thanks a lot guys, it's not very nice out there

This little knife just arrived all the way from Sweden. I couldn't resist its charm and I just had to buy it.
It's not a particularly well-built knife, but it sure is fun to look at and it reminds me of knives I had as a kid.:thumbsup:

Fantastic John, so cool  Is there a tang-stamp by any chance?

Always good to see that beauty Dean :)

Jack Black Jack Black - Thank you Jack.:) Chocolates and Lambs paired nicely.

Thanks buddy, fine-looking pair, I had your RR with the Colt colours

Love this pic Taylor, two well-loved Lambsfoot knives :)

That's good, I did see some pretty wild photos of your storm! Here we rarely get strong storms, but we do get big fires and earthquakes:eek:

Thank you kindly, Jack!!! Great start for you with your wonderful lambs; your cocobolo and cocoa really hit may sweet tooth!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

A couple of my favorite trappers from GEC for Tuesday. :)

Yeah, been a lot of flooding roundabouts, and it's still pretty nasty outside. I'm glad I live on a hill!  Thank you very much my friend, a couple of beautiful Trappers there :)

My meeting today has just been cancelled due to the inclement weather, but I reckon I'll be able to find plenty to do  Carrying my Hartshead Barlow yet again, along with my Random Tuesday Hongjie 'SuperKnife' ;) Have a good day folks

Stately stag pair, Ron! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Harry
Tough to beat those stag 73s, Harry!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Three beauties today Gary; the two European stag covered cutters are especially cool!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
...
I gratefully welcome your kind words, JJ. :)

For Sunday I'll be toting these two sharp old jacks; one from Remington and one from Syracuse Knife Co (Camillus.) :)
Charming couple of dark spearpoint jacks, JJ!:cool::thumbsup:

With the on-going move, the knives have been put away so I'm down to rough user types (one of which is cutting card like a dream but cannot be shown here, think Hitchcock film:D) Here a rather ugly Stag Mini Copper Lock that has a profile like a snake that's swallowed a big thing:eek: But it's grippy, durable and is a fine user. Locking stuff is important just now too...

I think that stag mini copperlock has plenty of visual appeal, Will!:cool::thumbsup: I hope your move takes place with a minimum of frustration and exhaustion! :)

Splendid selection GT

Morning folks, I didn't get a chance to post yesterday  Hope everyone is having a great weekend :) WE're being buffeted by Storm Ciara here at the moment, but I'm sure I have plenty of jobs to do in the house
...
Thanks, Jack. :)
I enjoyed your updating us on your recent carries!:cool::cool:

I always enjoy seeing that Ashley's Choice lambsfoot with the grand canyon running the length of the mark side stag!:thumbsup::cool:

Yup, it's an older one.
But given the condition of it, I think somebody was ignoring it for years. I'll treat it right. ;)
No doubts about that, John! ;):thumbsup:

That looks like a versatile pair, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool: How do you like that Vic Daypacker?

That is a Quality Quotidian Quartet, Gary!
...
Thanks a lot Gary, always a treat to see your hardy perennials ;)
...
...
Alway great to see your "Quotidian Quartet"; it certainly creates a nice cutlery equilibrium!;):thumbsup:
...
Thanks, Dean & Jack & JJ. :)
Dean, "quality" also applies to your XX blue Barlow!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

...
That Joker makes me smile, GT, though all three are really nice.

Thanks for your supportive comments, Stuart. :)
Your barehead stag jack is superb, and that unique lockback stag hunter looks immaculate (and bomb-proof)!:cool::thumbsup:

Lucy's backside and the dark chocolate are both looking irresistible, Jack!!:cool:;)

Today with Case XX mini trapper in stag.;)
...
Very handsome stag mini trapper, José!:cool::thumbsup:

This set usually rides around with me most days now, each one has their own 'duties' so to speak.
